None in Maidstone either. Good deal if you can get it though.

It's a regional offer - not all areas have it - it's not available in Leasowe :(
#7
No Lidl in West Drayton as far as I know - I've only lived here 3 years
Must be confused with the Aldi store :giggle:
#8
Apologies, yes thats Aldi. Always get them confused with Lidl, which are in Feltham, and they have them in on Monday. ;)

3 year warranty is a bonus as I've just got back my Targa dvd player which I bought from Lidl some years back. It was overheating and got repaired under warranty. I had assumed that the warranty would have run out so, on the recommendation of an earlier post, I bought the Philips 5960 (with usb port) only to find out that I could get the Targa repaired under warranty. :-D

The description of this player does not mention a usb port though :? Am I missing something as the pic is not clear?

Its Lidl. Follow the link.

I bought this player last time it was in store, i tried all my discs and everyone skipped, i think it was to do with the player needing an update. it had a usb port which also skipped and froze when using a my memory stick. i looked around and was unable to get a update for it. ended up returning it. the best player lidl have sold are the targa divx players, with an update these work very well and play anything you put in them.

The price does not indicate how good these players will be. I've had a Yamada for £35 and a Targa £20 and both have been rock solid. Generally it depends on how much these are supported either by the original manufacturer or 3rd party groups as both of those players have had firmware update. However Divx players have been out a few years now and the firmware should be feature rich and stable. But with a 3 year warranty and it only costing £20 then give it a go and take it back if you have problems.

I wonder if that was an isolated problem with your player as the german review that has been posted earlier said they tested a number dvd disks without any problems. The fact that you said it skipped using the usb port as well might indicate that there was some incompatibility with the encryption, maybe packed bitstream, qpel or gmc?

Doesn't seem to be any around Manchester.

This looks like the same divx player my local Lidl were selling a few months ago. I bought one then and its quite good, the only critisism I have about it is if you have a big file name on disc it cuts the end off and you can only see what fits in the box, so say its a whole series it might not be in the right order you don't know what episode is what.

The sound CAN go out off sync but not very often, a swift press of the rewind then play button sorts this out

I bought this as a back up for my Xbox but tend you use this alot more now

Think I'll buy another one on monday for the bedroom - for this price it seems silly not to...

Oh...and it has no usb, hope this helps
#38
If there is def no USB port I maybe lewave it and get the Toshiba from my local comet...
#39
I own one of these, well worth £20. It has a usb, I think ext hdd need to be formatted in fat32 to work, I use memory stick with no problem at all. If a downloaded divx movie is out of sinc (very rare for me. burn at slowest speed) press stop then play and it's fine. Ideal bedroom divx player.. I would go for the philips player with HDMI if you are a home cinema fan. hope this helps

I think that Lidl is selling TWO different types of DIVX players at the moment for £20. i think it depends on your area as to which one is available.

For example, I think that the Lidl in Seven Sisters is selling the DIVX player without USB.

Anyone confirm?
