Can you use quidco AND the egg cashback. The egg site states that you have to go to the site through the egg link (bypassing quidco). Anyone know if this is true?

Also is there any other good TV's that Dixons have in stock? I'm looking for about a 40' - 42' inch that will also work well with a standard signal
#3
nice find... also works on other TVs :)
#4
Nice price so voted hot, personally for around the same money I think the Toshiba WLT model series is the better set but each to their own as they say.

Yes, the Egg card is instant cashback at Dixons (you dont need to go through a link) if you go through Quidco you'll earn cashback there too. Worked fine when I bought a tumble dryer.

Hot. I just took the plunge and ordered one...

I had 2 37WLT66s faulty in 9 months - Toshiba have now given me this 37x3030d as warranty replacement - its full 1080p, not quite as competent at SD broadcasts but blows me away on HD material.

As you say each to thier own but I do prefer the 37x3030d :)

I didn't think that Egg cashback and Quidco could work together.

At least they didn't the last time i did it.

The 42 inch version of this TV got good reviews. See Link Below.

http://www.trustedreviews.com/tvs/review/2007/05/11/Toshiba-Regza-42X3030D-42in-LCD-TV/p1

One thing though, the 37inch may not use the same panel as the 42 inch.

I saw some previous posts with Egg + Quidco, which is why I put it in, but if anyone knows for sure it doesn;t work, then let me know, and I take it off.

Just read this post from Wingnut, so I assume it must work. Go via Quidco, and pay with your Egg card.

My gf has one of these in her home & we regularly watch dvd films on it and they look fantastic! However this tv isn't so great for watching ordinary tv, depends what your preferences are i guess

the best tv's for standard signal are non 1080p ones.. panasonic's upscale SD very well, as good as CRT and HD is brilliant too so a good comprimise..

I bought this last week for £649 (shame I didn't wait 1 week). But it is a VERY good TV. I spent days in Comet and Currys comapring this to the Samsung LE37M86BD screen and this was by far better (certainly for SD as there was no ghosting at all). Sound is also very good.

Great price for £649, amazing for £553.

The 42' toshiba seems like a good deal too. Any views on that? Btw rep added for those that have helped. Thanks very much
#16
Anyone recommend a good stand for this? I need space for an amplifier, Humax PVR and Toshiba DVD so I guess a 2 shelf design should be good enough.
#17
Amazon have a good range, some glass ones for £50 with good reviews

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_ce?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=stand&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go

If I was going to purchase one, thats where I'd look

And I agree with immy69, non 1080p tvs seem to get the best picture for ordinary tv, my Panasonic amazes everyone who sees it

I got this TV just before xmas & its a good build quality TV for the money.

Picture quality though is quite average on standard def tv, not seen any high def content yet on mine although i hear this is where this set shines!

Sound is superb especially if you get the additional Toshiba sub woofer which clips on to the rear of the set, it really pumps out some top quality sound & is worth the £40 or £50 extra, having said this the standard speaker setup is probably much better than most sets in this price range anyway.

Excellent - thanks. Ordered!

Recently bought a sat nav from Dixons, went through Quidco & paid with Egg card. Got cashback on my statement same day & showing on Quidco as 'tracking'. Can't bee 100% until money in the bank, but it's looking good so far.

I bought this stand from Argos for £39 http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6108009/Trail/searchtext%3E*8009.htm. Doesn't have a cable tidy on back, but if cabled nicely they don't look obtrusive anyway.

Plasma TVs are usually better than LCDs at displaying SD images, probably due to their faster response times, and Dixons have the 100Hz LG 42PC56 for £616 here. Then you can use the codes stated above to get money off.

Agreed. I bought one of these a few weeks ago and it is quite average on normal Sky. Yet to try it on real HD but my Sony DVD upscaler seems to do a decent job.

My only criticism......can you believe that you can only switch this to STANDBY??? You can't turn this baby 'off off' unless you flick the plug. Carbon footprints and all that.......

Review here:

I get the impression though, that the set for SD is not as good as the Toshiba 37WLT68 which is an older model, (I think) but has the 100Hz which displays footy etc. better.
I NEARLY got one when they were on offer in Amazon for £549 but went the next day !
:x

Thanks!

Only brings the sony 40v3000 down to £882.49 though :(

Hi,

I am new to this!

do the codes definitely expire today? Typically the tv I want isnt in stock.

As the dixons sale ends tomorrow - whats everyone's experience of prices changing - i.e. up or down.......or any future codes becoming available?

thanks
#28
I too can confirm that Quidco and Egg do work together. The Egg is cashback, that will show up on your card automatically without going through the link. Quidco you obviously must go through the link.

This is a good deal however i seem to have trouble with the delivery. I have tried 3 postcodes now without success. This seems strange as i am looking for the unit to be delivered. Any one any clues or tips? Thanks

Dixon's are like Argos and whether you get a tv depends on local stock from distribution centres which I think is total pants for a national company!

But then I would avoid buying anything from the DSG group as their customer service in my experience is pathetic!

A lot of new TVs are like that - it sucks! Best thing to do is get a Bye Bye standby thing to save electricity. I think they were only £15 at maplin so get one!

these codes and egg card make the 42Z £845 :)

out of stock in oxford area !
#34
Does anybody know if there is a way to enter in another postcode (that has stock), but get it delivered elsewhere? Both the 37" and the 42" are out of stock for my postcode and I would like to get one.

EDIT: No need to worry as they have now removed this product from their site. Gutted

yeah, they increased the toshiba 42z from 937.99 to 951.99, very immoral increasing prices, its hardly like toshiba increased the price, they had same price as amazon, amazon have lowered theirs to 924.11 now. If dixons lower theirs to £924.11 i may buy 1 with codes, skint atm tho and this is alot of ££.

I have just taken delivery of one of these TV's from Play.com having failed with the Dixon's offer..

Not as cheap as the Dixon's deal but at £649.99 including delivery, still a good deal.

The other bonus is a Toshiba MV3C30 TV Stand free, also with free delivery.

Play sell this alone for £129.99 although prices elsewhere vary.

Oh and don't forget 4% quidco.

Has anyone had any update from Dixons since ordering?
