Looks pretty good...

Looks ok for the price

No hard disk included,

You have to build this yourself.

You can get a similar setup pre-built from Novatech if you dont want to build it youeself. You need to add a DVD drive and hard disk

Why do they insist on using horrible cases? Good deal though

Good for the price, heat given
I gave my son my Pentium E6300 2.8ghz to use as a server, and it's a fantastic cpu. This'll be even better. Runs cool and well.
Agree with the above though why the constant vile cases ?

Would be good as a light web browsing/office machine or server, nothing else - horrible PSU and very little options for upgrade.
#7
Would make a great Hackintosh as it uses an apple friendly Gigabyte mobo. Great price for a Mac Pro lite - Snow Leopard is a breeze to install now.

Dont know about the psu. Why is it horrible?

As far as the specs go, then any e6500 with 4gb of ram when coupled with a reasonable graphics cardwould make an ok budget games machine.

Why do you say there are little options for upgrade? What upgrades is it lacking?

Buying a new HDD perfectly possible.
Buying most but none top range graphics card is possible.
Buying a higher spec s775 processor is possible.

If you are on a budget then I dont think you would be looking to upgrade beyond what its capable of. The motherboard is fine and it is the basis for making a good budget home pc.

Scan are selling the 1tb F3 pretty cheaply and always for under £40 these days. 500gb would do you fine, although I bet the price of that is around £30. Its a pretty good(not amazing) deal.

Any links? Was most complicated when I last looked. Unless you had a dell mini 10

Anyone help.
I bought a Radeon HD6870 video card , Would this fit in this system . ???

Video clips youtube with a good video card looks great .

I bought the card for my old pc but it does not fit. the card is quite wide . Need to upgrade my old pentuim d.

That mobo is deent for overclocking too, could get decent results as the E6500 runs pretty cool at stock speeds (even with OEM cooler).

There's no reason you couldn't throw a midrange GPU into this box to make it a fairly capable gaming/media PC.
You obviously don't have a clue...

Why yes, as a matter of fact I do. Thanks to a very helpful community and the hard work of a guy called Tony, you just need his iBoot software. Read all about it at http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/
You can then tweak away afterwards with MultiBeast. Both downloadable on his site. It is remarkably simple.

Don't forget to buy a copy of Snow Leopard, mind. Keep it clean kids.

what does it do?

This processor overclocks well, runs nice and cool with the stock cooler. maybe get it to 3.15GHZ
Add a GT240 for £60 and you will have a fine mid-range gaming machine. Will play everything you throw at it on mid-low settings at 30fps or above.

It's still there on the today only page.
Look for 'Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6500 Combo'.

Ok, just priced up a similar system on ebuyer (with a slightly worse CPU) and it was more expensive, so I've gone to look for this deal to buy but can't find it. Anybody know if it's still available?
