Saw this in an ad in this mornings metro apprently valid for one week only:

DJ Hero is a music video game developed by FreeStyleGames and published by Activision as a rhythm game similar to Guitar Hero. It was released on October 27, 2009 in North America and on October 29, 2009 in Europe. The game is based on turntablism and features more than 80 remixes of two different songs from a selection of over 100 different songs across numerous genres. To score points, the player must press buttons to activate accented beats, adjust their crossfade between the two songs, and "scratch" the turntable on the game's custom controller in time to marks that scroll on the screen to score points and perform well for the virtual crowd. The game features both a single player Career mode and cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. The game also features a mode for selected songs for a DJ player to play alongside another player using a Guitar Hero guitar controller.

Many DJ and mix artists have contributed to the game both in the game's development, the creation of mixes, and in lending their images for playable avatars in the game; these including DJ Shadow, Z-Trip, DJ AM, Cut Chemist, J.Period, Grandmaster Flash, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Daft Punk.

A lot of online merchants are selling the PS2 version for this price but for the 3 current generation machines this seems the best price anywhere.

Having said that I'm sure the price on this will drop over time just like the instrument packs for guitar hero and rock band have done.

Seems like the best price, both retail and online..heat added

whats the best price online?
#5
I want the Renegade edition, but only after the price of it comes way down.
#6
Will be half this in a month or so.... dont think this will have the appeal of GH series, that said, I'll get it when it reaches sub £30.

Pretty Hot deal!

I bought mine for that price from Tesco.com yesterday using a £10 Off 1st Order code and am off to pick it up in a minute.

I wanted the Renegade Edition but it is a bit too expensive for me.

@frakison

The first guitar hero game took a while to take off and gain popularity with the mainstream.
I think Dj Hero is instantly more accessable to wider range of people so might hold its price for a while.

You could be right, but initial sales suggested not last time I looked. I think you're wrong on the assumption that this will appeal to more people though. My my mates 60+ dad (and even my mum!!) loved guitar hero as it brings out the air guitarist in us all. I think this is a really good idea, but what Im saying is that these sort of "gimmicky" games tend to fall pretty sharpish. I think it deserves to do well just for trying to inject something a bit different into the market

Good price, if you want it now. Personally, i'm going to see if it gets cheaper after xmas. Voted hot, because this is the best price for purchasing it today
#13
Just give it till after xmas. (Plus why would you want another piece of plastic laying around in the living room?)
#14
Same price in Toys R Us (Instore today)

So you can use it to party before/on Christmas maybe...? :?

It looks quite good, but I wouldn't spend more than £50 on it (That has also been the maximum I've been willing to spend on Guitar Hero releases).

The soundtrack is right up my street but once the novelty wears off I can't see myself enjoying it more than a typical new release played using a standard pad.

Not voting either way.

One review said that it's highly likely that someone will make a patch so that the USB turntable will work as a digital mixer on a PC.
Picking mine up tomorrow :-)

How did you manage to bag it for GBP68 ???

Didn't even think about this...seems likely, seeing as two turntables could connect to the one mixer...hmmm...

Sainsbury's staff discount is currently at 15% so that's how you can get it for that much.

I'm tempted, love music games since DDR and parappa, and always wanted to play Beatmania games on Playstation, but last time I looked the controller and a game was pretty much the same kinda price, which put me off.

Only thing I don't like with this game are the tracks- I really wanted to see more electronic dance tracks and loads of trance stuff, but there seems to be more rock music in there than Trance, which is a bit weird for a DJ game! At least they got Daft Punk in on the act.

Hi All,

This game is superb fun. I have a video on the Renegade version (not this one)... the game is exactly the same, controller the same, you just don't get the bonus CD and carry box that converts into stand.

I'm holding off for this until it drops to £50 new and then I'll get it.

Played it in HMV it's a lot of fun :)

Went to Sainsburys and got this yesterday. It is indeed a lorra, lorra fun.

Couldnt be bothered to wait a few months for what will probably only be a small reduction.

Turntable is quite a well made piece of kit, i was suprised.
