When you say "instore", which store would that be?

Interesting read on Drone forums with these things malfunctioning and flying off into the distance never to be seen again or if your "lucky" you find it smashed into the ground or a hundred feet up in a tree.
happens regularly and the manufacturer punts in down to pilot error. Beware X)

DJI will hear your case if you say the thing malfunctioned and few off or failed to respond to the controls. They have a way of finding if it was user error or product error as the controller stores the metrics. For e.g. If you say you pulled the joystick back but it careered forward into a wall they can check it.

That's true, although wasn't aware of anything re the phantom until you said. However, if you look in some of the social media forums you find posts like, 'lost drone', ' found drone in my garden,' etc and seen several for the phantom.

Laws in the UK regarding drone flight makes this a risky hobby. At the moment, there is nothing to stop you going and buying a drone and taking it out flying, as long as the drone weighs less than 20kg and you are not using it for commercial reasons.

However, you must avoid flying it within 150 metres of a congested area and 50 metres of a person, vessel, vehicle or structure not under the control of the pilot. Thats not to mention the risk of getting sued under privacy laws if you are recording video too.

The penalty is unlimited fine or a custodial sentence. It just takes one pc correct do gooder neighbour to complain and you might be eating porridge for a few months. I've got a cheaper model with good range and already had people asking if I've videoed their property. I gave them the traditional one fingered salute.

No fun any more.

care to back up your claim of unlimited fine and custodial, with factual evidence.
