Dji mavic pro from banggood.com. I know a lot of the overseas sites have a lot of bad press but I've used banggood a number of times with no problems.

the price on the site is £787.31 then add promo code toysho to bring it down to £724.32. quidco is offering 4.8% cashback to take it down to the £689.55 price....

but wait there's possibly more discount! topcashback offer a discount of 6.06%. so why go with quidco? they offer a highest cash back guarantee with double the difference cash back making it a better deal! slightly long winded way round of being extra discount but fingers crossed should work out a better deal!

banggood, dji mavic pro only, not the extra battery kit, discount code toysho plus cash back!

if you know where is cheaper let others know, sadly I've already paid for mine and just awaiting delivery!

Banggood are great, but fyi - they need to be an authorised DJI reseller in order for the DJI warranty to be valid, so check first !

Update: Already out of stock...

Serious candidate for direct credit card payment to obtain S75 benefit !

Very cheap but DJI QC is ropey at best and at worst a joke. QC for the Mavic in the Chinese market is reportedly non existent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6ysJe6sDok

I've had a Mavic for over a month and from my experience manufacturing quality is very high. From parts, plastic, hardware all the way down to the software I haven't had any complaints.

I have owned several DJI products, including the Mavic & whilst early releases of their new products have had some QC issues, I can say that DJI Support have always sorted them out under warranty. It may be an inconvenience, but this is the price for being the first to have the latest tech - at least it will be sorted.
The Mavic has been out now for over 6 months & all issues are sorted now. You might be unlucky & get an early release with a QC issue that is still hanging around in stock, but DJI will fix it under warranty (see my first post)
This info is based on my real world experiences with DJI support over the past 2 and half years.

You got lucky. Watch youtube link are read the forums. QC of the Phantoms is better but still dire compared to Japanese/European manufacturers. If something goes wrong warranty turn around times can be ridiculous, 3-6 weeks and longer is well known.

They will fix, but turn around times are shocking, 3-6 weeks is well known.

I've got mine from the Apple Store before the price went up. I'm thinking given the importance of Apple's retail chain and the fact they they do promote DJI products in their stores quite a lot DJI must ensure that Apple gets only good stock.

The Japanese/Europeans don't make Drones, so how can you compare these. The Japanese/Europeans do make Cars & other electronics - but these are all very well established technologies.
DJI are making new technology & are streets ahead of anyone else in this field - including QC.
All of the repairs I have had from DJI were turned around in 2 - 4 weeks - it may be an inconvenience, but there is nothing unusual about this.

Good question ! - I think you would need to ask Banggood.
#17
btw - 1080 60fps & 50fps modes are poor - this is a limitation of the Sony chip they used, so stick to 4k or 2.7k @ 30fps (or less).

how does the drone handle in a highly tree populated area in relation to obstacle avoidance?

Obstacle avoidance works well enough - but I would never go charging around a forest & expect it to avoid everything. It's 1st generation technology.
Suggest you visit the DJI website & download the Mavic user guide for more info.

No you don't. You gey your warranty as the moment of activation. I spoke to DJI before buying mine from TechInTheBasket.

afrocleland - did you buy yours from techinthebasket? Have you got it yet? If so any thoughts? Price looks a steal on there at the mo - £780 with a code...

I did! I regret not getting the fly more though. They told me it would take 5 working days, it did exactly that. It was £300 less than RRP, so I bit the bullet. Warranty is the same after activating. You can even get DJI Refresh if you want too.
They do seem a tad dodgey, but I got exactly what I bought. Just use paypal to be safe.

cheers pal - ordered (via paypla!). This BangGood one is out of stock at the mo... and I would be a little bit worried about import duty, lost, stolen, broken etc if ordered from China, fine for a phone, not a £1,100 drone.. but that's just my opinion.

Fly More is just a case and an extra batter no? Extra battery looks to be about £70 is you shop around...

Also did techinthebasket give you a 'proper' invoice? You need it if you ever need a warranty repair from DJI.. Just about to google "DJI Refesh" to see what that is all about :)

the fly more pack gives you 2 more batteries so 3 in all and a hub charger as well as carry case and car charger.
first thing I did was buy another battery and got a nice carry case for £16.99 off ebay which holds everything in the one pack
#26
Cheers! Thanks for the info pal...
#27
no problem definitely get a padded carry bag for it though as you need it and its pennies compared to what you have just paid for the mavic, its such an amazing piece of tech it needs looking after
#28
also tonybannon let me know once it gets delivered if its all ok and how long it took to get to you, as my mate has been drooling over my mavic and would like one at this sort of price
#29
Ordered Monday about 15:30, delivered today @ 10:34 :) Notice that techinthebox have an extra £18 off today (£762.99 with code) for the non fly more version...

Can you link the carry bag you got please neiljj?

I've got a £50 voucher for Amazon uk which was thinking of using to buy a second battery - £85 there currently, any cheaper reliable places for a battery?
#30
great delivery time. I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered from banggood. I'm hoping that the final price including cashback being press than £680 will make up for the long delivery time!
#31
ebay number 252846611184.

wow that's great delivery did you just choose the normal free delivery, did you get tracking info so you knew it would arrive today? my mate has ordered it today at 12.10 this afternoon so maybe he will get his before the weekend, he will be well happy if so
#32
if you have an amazon voucher I suggest spending £15.99 on the car charger they have on there

tonybannon (or neilljj ) , could you do me a favour and tell me on your Mavic box, where the barcode is, just above it does it say (CN) or (UK) or something else? And did it come with a UK 3-pin plug in the sealed box for the charger? Thanks!
