Hitting audiences like a wet fish in the face it was weird, wonderful and hilarious. I'm confused, wikipedia classes this as a Children's tv show, but the cast would suggest otherwise. The cover art is also very similar to the DVD of At Last The 1948 Show. Could someone explain the show and if its worth it

No, no-one can explain this show. It's like Monty Python, it defies explanation. I saw it when it first came out, I was 16 at the time. We all loved it at school, it was easily the funniest show on TV at the time. I wouldn't class this as children's TV. I suspect ITV didn't know what to do with this show, just like the BBC with Monty Python, so they just stuck it on at tea time. I haven't seen it in a long time so I don't know if it's still as funny now, but at this price you won't lose much.
