dont you mean 5p, there on BOGOF

it doent actually say anything about how much goes to charity

I'd rather just donate my money to a charity rather than buying something, as money has to go in to creating that

I dont usually donate to children in need anyway - would rather donate to charities which dont get so much publicity, and therefore less donations. They also spend a lot on getting celebrities to present etc, and I would not want my money spent in that way

Sorry (Didnt vote hot or cold btw)

This is all a huge waste of time IMO, yes it raises money... but just think how much it costs for the children in need/red nose day etc sets/stages elecy pay for the acts/presenters.

Charities for breast cancer and the poppy foundations don't make this big fuss and still make money.

At least its getting people together in the spirit of doing stuff for charity. It probably makes people think more about giving to other charities. Saying this I think the licence fee should be abolised and become a compulsory £100 charity donation.

But then what would fund the BBC? I think just having radio without adverts is worth the license fee, let alone the TV stuff we get on top of that (some of which is actually worthwhile).

For the record though, Christmas cards are a pretty serious waste of trees. Buy recycled, or e-mail.

I agree the licence fee should be abolished, what is it really for these days? So people can watch tv and get scammed on a daily basis with all the call 090... numbers etc. They are just paying for the pleasure of being ripped off!

But i do not agree that it should become a compulsory £100 charity donation. Most people have trouble affording the tv licence as it is, so why should they have to give £100 to charity when they can't really afford to?

Only give what you can possibly give, if you can't then theres nothing you can do about it, but £100? That's a bit steep!

Let all the celebrity that get all the publicity out of these charity fundrasing shows do the donating, it's them that can afford to make a real difference.
