Top deal for a quid, but why would you need a 19ft RJ-45?
#2
because contrary to what you have been told, size matters!

Why the cold votes when the other was hot?

I use a 10m cable and use all of it, And I might get a 20m to run round the house, it's shorter than you think when you're actually using it.

Probably because it`s already posted (even though this is longer) it would have been easier to mention in the other thread this was available!

Already posted.

No it isn't, why do people vote cold without even reading it?

Er, yes it is, the only difference is length! rather than take the glory for this why not just ask the original poster http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/260676/belkin-cat5e-crossover-patch-cable-/ to add "also available in 6m length" to his post.
#7
it's a different item - it's getting very petty on here - heat added

It's a different item, you could say that about any item posted on here.

Uhh it's a 16GB memory stick the only difference is the brand why not get the op to add also in this brand, if we did that no deals would ever be posted.

But it`s not a different brand, it`s identical other than the length.
If someone posted a green jumper & I then posted the same jumper in a different size would that be a new deal worthy of a new post?
#9
I agree it is a different item & IT IS getting very petty on here, heat added
#10
i paid more than that for some on ebay (they were pink though hehe) i must say i wouldnt have even read a post about shorter ones as i need at least this length so thanks for posting it

Its all getting a bit silly, its a different size so therefore a different product so therefore a completely different deal, heat added :)

Well said.

Can anyone tell me does 2 of these + a coupler = 12m patch cable?
#16
What exactly does it do?
#17
you can use 2x6m crossover cables with a straight coupler as a 12m straight cable
#18
Excellent, heat added.
Is it easy to straighten a crossover cable? 6m is just what I need.
#19
You will need an adapter.
#20
Anyone know good deals on a RJ-45 Crimping tool and very long wires?
I'd rather crimp my own because I need really long ones.

A crossover cable will work fine as a normal one aswell.

To clarify
A cross over cable works for both connecting to routers and to computers, as well as directly computer to computers.

Patch cable works only for routers to computers, not computers to computers.

Both misleading I believe - modern equipment may auto sense & compensate for use of either type of cable, but this is not guaranteed - generally cross over is used direct between computers & straight elsewhere.
#23
If you want to extend this, then only use one crossover ethernet cable with a normal ethernet cable (using a female to female adaptor) otherwise using two crossover cables will cancel each other out creating anti-matter leading to a mini black hole
#24
Noticed this yesterday too. Good deal!

Top deal for a quid, but why would you need a 19ft RJ-45?

The question surely is, why wouldn't you? How long is the average living room in the uk? 15-25ft?

Should've just been posted in the other thread though.

Is this a patch cable or a cross over ? if it is male to male is that not a patch cable and if it were a crossover it would be turned around male eg to connect pc to pc, ? can anyone tell me please thanks.

It says "Cat5e Crossover Cable. For PC to PC connection" on the packaging - see pic.
#28
A patch cable is straight thru - male-male with all wires going to the same pin on both ends.

A crossover cable is male-male with pins 1/3 2/6 swapped at one end.

EDIT : Wiring Diagram HERE

Belkin are just trying to confuse everyone, putting "patch" on the packaging (or an idiot in marketting who needs a clue).

I've yet to come across a router that does not auto-sense. Most of them do, at least in home networking sector, which is relevant to us more than anything.

Did not find this in PoundLand yesterday, but 3m is still available! Good price, hot.
