Good price, thanks :)

nice find

I had one similar to this from Maxell, it supposedly charges the battery whilst playing music. It knackered the battery on both my phone and Ipod. I therefor will not buy any that claim to charge batteries. Still hot if you want to take the risk I guess!

The worst aspect of these cheaper untits is the everpresent buzz which can be annoying and the ability or not of dimming the display

bought one xmas works great with ipod touch, sounds pretty good (loud), charges etc

I bought one of these around Christmas for £20. It has no iphone support, but the sound it produces is fairly good. Big downside is a constant electrical interference noise when on standby even with nothing around it. Biggest flaw is it illuminates the room way too much. The blue back-lit settings are bright or slightly less bright. I guess if you can sleep with light then its not an issue.

For the price, its a great dockign station for the kitchen or something but it doesnt work for me as an alarm clock.

Bought one of these for my daughter 15 months ago for £17.99.

For that price it was decent, so for this cheaper price it is even better.

Sound is not bad, rad reception is decent also. Remote is not the best but if its for a bedside dock its fine.

As for iPhone compatability, you can dock it and when the warning about not being compatible comes on your phone you can select NO. It works fine with the iPhone to the extent of playing music (and you dont have to put the phone in AIRPLANE MODE), if the phone rings when in the dock you just have to disconnect it and answer your phone!!!

As for charging the phone / ipod, its fine. My daughter always uses hers when in her room.

EDIT - The backlight can be set to OFF!!!!! so it does not illuminate the room at all! it has 3 settings HIGH / LOW / OFF!

This is true, I forgot to mention the off. But as it is backlit, having it switched off, completely defeats the purpose of a docking alarm clock. If you cant see the time its just a dock.

Still good price.

I bought this Philips one from Argos for £90 at Christmas and the sound is fantastic for it's size. There is no buzz and is now reduced to £60 which I know is still alot more than this one but worth it in my opinion.

From COMET back in January (cant find it on their site now!) but it has a DAB Radio on it for £59.

What about the Pure Chronos idock as an alternative? - Very pleased with mine.
Quite expensive compared to this item but worth it I reckon.

i bought this because i thought for 18quid i had nothing to lose. i got it, plugged it in, dropped my iphone 3gs in, and i was absolutely blown away by how good it is!! sound quality is brilliant for the cost, when iphone is in you can use the remote to go through your songs rather than using iphone, its nice and compact, asks you to use flight mode to reduce interferance, this is an absolute bargain, all the people criticising, grow up. for 18quid, this is a MUST for any ipod/iphone lover!!!!

Excellent find, bought two of these last month at £17.99. Works as a great alarm clock, easy to set etc.
Also very good as an ipod speaker. Obviously not going to be stunning at this price, but very, very good.

Just ordered, thanks :)

Well worth the money. I've had one for ages and it is OK with an iPhone if you're OK with having the iPhone in flight mode. Has two alarms that can set for Mon - Fri only. Well worth the money

Yep, seems that way - probably so it matches the current price of the same item in pink that they have on there for £17.99..

You can get it for £16.99 using the £1 off voucher though (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/628444/1-off-at-play-com)

I ordered one of these last week, it arrived recently, I'm pretty happy with it except for the fact that when I set the alarm to use the radio, the radio does come on at the right time but the volume just gets louder and louder. Is this right ? Can I just set it for the radio to come on at a single volume (and stay at that volume) ?
