Alright, this is a bit of an odd one, but I was fairly chuffed with it so I thought I'd stick on here and alert other Whovians to this sneaky bargain. :)

I was browsing the magazines in ASDA today when I spotted the Doctor Who Monster Invasion issue on the shelf. Now, it's a kiddies magazine with the ability to collect Doctor Who trading cards but what I think makes it such a fab deal is that this issue (number 2) comes with a great big plastic TARDIS!

It's split in half, with 3 compartments in each side (presumably for storing the trading cards, but they're fairly roomy and you could put lots of random things in them) but it also clips together at the bottom to make a fully-fledged standing plastic TARDIS.

I made a quick measurement of it and it came to 9.5" (H) x 6" (W) x 6" (D), so as you can see it's a fairly big model, and pretty well built considering the issue costs £2.60, and will be taking a nice spot on my desk!

Doesn't have the TARDIS light on the top of it (or even a sticker) but for the size and build I don't suppose you can complain.

I'll see whether I can dig out a camera to take a pic of it for your convienience (that is, if anyone's interested).

Quite impressed with this, think I'll get it. The next one too if it finishes it off, looks quite good for such a cheap model.

Oh I saw this earlier today but didn't buy it cos it didn't have a light on top. I didn't realise it's gonna come with next issue. I may have to pick it up then. I seem to be starting a collection of different use TARDISes (is that the plural?). I have the Eleventh Doctor's Flight Control TARDIS, the TARDIS USB hub connected to my PS3, TARDIS money box off Doctor Who Adventures, some TARDIS I saw in a newsagents that has weird lil rolly toy things inside and so on.

I just got one. It's bigger than the actual proper toy of the TARDIS though the windows are just stickers and obviously it's got no electronics and proper doors and such. Still makes a great display piece of any Who fan and I might use the lil compartments for various bits and pieces. Already using one to store lil accessories and bits that came with Doctor Who figures that I'm not using at moment (like the tentacles that attach to the Pandorica Cyberman's neck when you take his head off his body). Will look out for the next issue with the roof and lamp.

I took a pic too. Hope no one minds. Shows the scale of it compared to the actual Flight Control TARDIS toy and the Character Building 'Lego' style TARDIS too.
