The thrilling Dollhouse reunites Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon (Firefly, Serenity) and Eliza Dushku (Angel). Echo is an 'Active' - someone whose memories have been wiped and replaced. Hired for nefarious gains, she acts with no memory of before. Can she rediscover her true identity before it's too late?

Confined between missions to a secret facility known as the "Dollhouse," Echo and the other Actives including Sierra (Dichen Lachman), are assigned engagements by Adelle Dewitt (Olivia Williams), one of the Dollhouse leaders. After each scenario, Echo, always under the watchful eye of her handler, Boyd Langton (Harry Lennix), returns to the mysterious Dollhouse where her thoughts, feelings, experiences and knowledge are erased by Topher Brink (Fran Kranz), the Dollhouse's genius programmer.

Echo acts with no memory of before. Or does she?

Maybe he didn't hear that this is a Joss Whedon show on Fox? Season 2 is only £15 preorder too, seems a pretty good deal. Whedon is God!

At least there was some closure to this cancelled series. 99% of cancelled US shows end mid-storyline, which is so irritating.

Enjoyed this, worth watching just to see Eliza in an S&M outfit :D (as well as many other revealing outfits).

Though the ending was pretty awful as far as I'm concerned (urgh don't get me started on it, i was really annoyed lol)

And they probably will release it on blu ray, the dvd and blu ray sales are usually impressive from joss whedon shows, look at firefly, only one season and it was released on blu ray, and it's amazing (though i'm still dreaming of the day buffy gets released on blu ray!)

Seemingly none of Buffy and only the last season of Angel were mastered in HD despite being shot on film so it'll never happen. Add to that the fact that it was all letterbox as well it just wouldn't be worth their effort.

? If the original is on film then they can make a blu-ray of it. Would love the first series of buffy on blu as it was 16mm film and the DVD looks awful on a big screen. But it can be done and probably will.

16mm film only equates to 720p i thought (most are taken from 32mm) i didn't know buffy was shot on 16mm, but asides from this it's still worth being done imo. as dvd quality does look pretty bad on a big screen even when upscaled and there are legions of buffy fans who would buy it *waves arms frantically*

35mm is actually way superior to 1080p, I forget now how much so, easy enough to find out. 16mm will probably equate to 1080p rather than 720p I'll look it up tomorrow. Bed for now. Only series one was on 16mm, the rest were on 35mm.

[edit] Looked into it and I'm right. 16mm will easily do 1080p. Evil Dead for example is said to have a stunning release. Bring on our Buffy

Perfectly aware that film is higher quality than HD, the point is that seemingly they didn't create the masters in HD (they were done onto stock 480i video for post production) so unless they still have the original film reels rather than the master tapes then it'll never happen.
