Asda are selling the legendary Dom Perignon at £30 a bottle.....thats a massive 70% reduction from the RRP....not sure how many each store will have but at this price my guess is they wont be on the shelves for long....

OOh we could all be James Bond...I'm off to paint the wife in gold emulsion.

None in Eastbourne.

The London Metro paper had an article on this and it is more of a stunt. Apparently Asda'a have 1000 bottles nationwide and not all stores will have them, but if they do it is likely to just be 6 bottles. It has certainly not impressed other retailers or Domm P.

Available only in store, good luck to those who want an extra special fizz this Xmas.

Well i can tell you, and its not suprising, that the Hull Kingswood store does not have any in...Waste of a trip.

Only 70 stores are to have any stock at all according to the report in todays Sun.

thanks knightsimon - that will save me a trip - might be worth ringing the others i e hessle road ,bilton or holderness road

Scorching hot deal for those of us who have found some!

Thank you, this has saved me a fortune, but no doubt my wife to be can find something else to spend this 'extra' money on though, as it saved £400 on the case!

Heat added.

RRP means nothing if if you don't like the taste...won a bottle of DP '83 many years ago and was hugely disappointed.

But if you like it or want to try it, then it's a great offer.

but sod all chance I will find any, typical!

Rang Asda earlier; they had 700 bottles nationwide and all were sold by 08.30. You would have had more chance of seeing Lord Lucan riding Shergar through the streets of Atlantis than getting a bottle of this. Apparently it was done as a direct response to Tesco selling their own brand fizz at £7 - which is definitely worth buying and I doubt many can tell the difference between that and Dom P.

Well i think this was the 'once of a life time deal'...BUT also a weak publicity stunt by ASDA. 700 bottles??? If they were serious then 7000 bottles would be more like it! They will have lost about £5 each wholesale and all those they did sell would be bought by restaurant owners (or staff told to cue up in the morning!) Limiting to a select few shops was a kick in the face to regular customers too! Its a shame because if done properly it could have caused as big a stir as the designer jeans price war a few years ago. but this turned out to be a cheap press release that average ASDA customers ignored, and others were put off by lack off supply and will revert back to their regular supermarkets!

With you all the way there.
