New Release.

Don King Presents Prizefighter is equal parts sports simulation and true boxing drama that takes place both inside and outside the ring. The action within the squared-circle accurately mimics the sport's tactics and hard knocks by allowing players to create angles and openings using a full arsenal of true 3D motion captured movement and punch mechanics found only in the real world sport... until now.

Outside the ring, the drama continues as the player is faced with temptations inherent in any professional athletes' life, where they must balance these trappings of notoriety with the hardship of training in order to find the road to glory. As the player progresses through their career, a live-action documentary tells their story, warts and all - never before seen in any videogame.

My god...its been out two weeks and is already at £22.99....?!

Something tells me this game isn't that great! But, there is a demo on XBLM so at least you can try before you buy.

terrible game, voted cold, not worth 20p

What's the premise then? You play a boxing promoter who has to throw fights and skim "management fees" from your clients without being caught and convicted?

As far as This boxing game goes it's average.....

I wouldnt give Don King a penny after what he did to Tyson.

Roll on Fight Night Round 4 for the 360

I have no idea why this is so hot. Looks terrible.

Dont buy this game, its nowhere near as good as fight night round 3.... and you can get that cheaper

According to the review I read the other day this has some superbly original ideas, yet the actually boxing is awful compared to Fight Night.

Tried the demo last night. It was very poor.

Theres a reason for the early sale on this title...its not very good. It got a metacritic score of 57 based on 21 reviews...buy fight night round 3 instead.

Agree with the comments so far, tried the demo and it was awful; sluggish, inaccurate and with little feeling of involvement or realism.

FN3 is much better, hopefully FN4 will be better still but this one, just like King himself, is an overbloated, ugly and ultimately empty experience.

Got this yesterday on rental from LoveFilm. I have to say I definetly agree with the 6/10 review average this game is getting. It's not outright terrible, and it does have some fantastic original ideas in terms of training, and especially character creation. The Create A Boxer mode is quite possibly one of the deepest create modes (face-wise) in any game i've ever played.

However. At LEAST 10 times during my first go of the game i was sat there thinking "why am I playing this over Fight Night?" Sure, it has a much more fleshed out career than Fight Night, which in my opinion was it's weak point, but FN spanks this game in every single other area except maybe CAB mode. Whilst the game is years old, the graphics in FN are far superior to this, and the controls absolutely batter it. The Prizefighter control system is so convulted and unneccesary difficult that I found it hard to want to play on, and moving from using the analog sticks back to the buttons felt pointless.

All in all, I'd reccomend Fight Night, which can be found alot cheaper than this. And like someone else said, roll on Fight Night 4. However the fact it's a differant team making it and that there working with Tyson on it does worry me a bit.

I'm just hoping they've got the same engine to build on. It would suck if they did it from the ground up. All i'd really want from FN:4 would be a more in depth career mode, better graphics for cuts, bruising, and better presentation. Oh and a soundtrack with some decent songs on it wouldn't hurt.
