What would you do if you knew the future?

October 1988 and small town USA is about to witness the end of the world. It's home to Donnie Darko, a brilliant but troubled teenager, plagued by terrifying visions of which he alone holds the key to the meaning.

With his class mate and soul mate Gretchen and a mysterious ex teacher, Grandma Death, he must unravel the strange occurrences infecting his school, his home and his life before a horrifying spectre known only as "Frank" can pull Donnie over the edge of his sanity.

I think its a great film in my opinion, but regardless, this is normal price now for dvds for me
#3
one of my favourite films, but i've laready got this and the norml version, just need the blu ray version now

1 of my favorite movies although the theatrical edition is way better.

i got the directors cut dvd free with a newspaper a few years back.

Not a good deal for the directors cut, this has been £1.99 on and off.

Plus its a disappointing cut, get the theatrical version if you havent seen it.

EVERYONE HATES THE DIRECTORS CUT! If you have never seen the movie before then do yourself a favour and watch the original version. If you are a hardcore fan of the original you may get some mileage out of this, so long as you understand it is inferior to the original.

i always liked the directors cut better because it includes clips from the book from roberta sparrow, so i really don't know what everyone else is on about - in my opinion, it's probably worth checking it out for that price (if you haven't already)

The Director's Cut is the idiot's guide version.

Shame the director has gone on to make turkey after turkey.

The original left a lot to the imagination and because of this became a great piece of popular philosophical art.

The director's cut removes a lot of the ambiguity and so prevents much of the thinking that had to be done by the viewer to complete the puzzle. Just by the addition of a few minutes of extra scenes and a few new effects, a circular story with much depth becomes a fairly linear story about a boy being messed about with by a****s.

i kinda agree.

this movie generally gets good reviews but i thought it was rubbish.

i've not voted either way because i think cold voting is wrong just because you don't like something, on the other hand i won't vote hot because i'm not sure whether £3.99 is a good price or not for this movie

I had to switch off the Director's cut 20mins in... Completely spoils the magic of the original version. Donnie Darko is in my top 10.

The Director's cut is a no-go:
they changed a lot of the music too!
#13
Where can I get the Bluray Theatrical Cut - PS3 won't play the US versions will it?.

Wow. I'd love to know what your favourite film is! Fast and the furious 2??..

Not a great deal anyway, bought this for £2 a while ago.

Donnie Darko Theatrical release is a work of genius. Especially for those that like to think, it's like back to the future for deep thinkers.
