50FT isn't very far, my £1 flicker can send a ball 3 times that distance with little effort, now if I could just get my dog to give me the ball back then that'd be great.

can't find any information on Argos website (or ask a question). Can you please tell me how this is powered? Is it manual or battery powered? I am finding throwing the ball with that throwy thing for my grand dog hard work these days. This looks ideal if no effort is involved!

Hi,

There is a video you can watch when you click the link, by the other photos.

There is a lever on top that you pull back to load the springs I think.

Lovely, such strong claws too, my Lhasa Apso would slide straight off such a sheer surface.

If you own a handbag dog, not a problem : -) I own a Beagle and I would have RSI if i threw every ball! I'd say about 1 and half hours of fetch each day! I use a Flicker which helps. I'd be a Major League Pitcher without it!

Looking at the video I do think my daughter's collie will arrive at the spot before the ball! But it will be further than I can manage to throw with the Chucky thing.

you do know 50FT is only 15 metres don't you? if you struggle throwing a ball that far you'll struggle pulling back the spring on this thing.

Nice find, although I prefer one of these ball launchers - cheaper and easier to use: http://amzn.eu/5GczqzB

Ordinary tennis balls are really bad for dogs teeth.

Awesome. Ordered.

Now all I need is a dog..

Was really excited by this then watched the vid, what a disappointment!! If it could launch the ball as far as my Flinger I would have snapped one up :(
#28
Only if they have dog as an add-on (_;)

Bought one of these and was initially disappointed with the distance, one of the thrower things is better for distance. However we went on a new walk and this meant the dog didn't run too far away. Also good for the kids.

I wouldn't buy this for how far it goes, it's more of a laugh with the family etc :)

How far does the ball actually go along the ground?

50ft I presume is height? But even that isn't much.

Not sure it goes much more than it could be thrown or launched with one of the £1 easy launcher things.

Also they say to use their lighter balls for maximum distance.

Wondered before about making an electric pull back harpoon style ball gun along similar lines (a compressed air canon should get good distance, but need a decent tank to power it with).

Well 50 feet is further than I can throw a ball! I watched a YouTube video made by a boy of about 9 and he seemed to pull back the spring without too much trouble. You're putting me off now
