  I think it's more to do how stupid it would be to spend this much money on this game. Wasn't the standard version £3 on Quakecon steam sales recently? So £11 for a couple of levels is a rip off.

  "The BFG Edition will feature "greatly enhanced graphics", better sound with more horror effects, a checkpoint save system, and support for 3D displays and HMDs. The game will also include the previous expansion Resurrection of Evil and a new single player expansion pack called The Lost Mission. Additionally, it will include copies of the original Doom, and Doom 2."

  Also I think the current version of Doom 3 doesn't work with Windows 7 officially and is definitely not optimized for modern rigs.

  You do realise that it was in HD when it 1st came on PC all those years ago right?
  
  So any comments regarding HD remastering has no meaning except in context of the consoles.

  Go to bed John Carmack, no one wants to buy your rehashed game just so you can test the waters for a 4th installment to squeeze the DOOM franchise for all it's worth rather than leave it as a marvel of gaming history.
