An icon of the 20th century, famed for films such as Hairspray, Serial Mom, Pink Flamingos, Cry Baby and Polyester, This Filthy World is John Waters' one-man show, a "vaudeville" act that celebrates the film career and tastes of the man William Burroughs once called "The Pope of Trash". Focusing in on Waters' early negative artistic influences and his fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy, and the extremes of the contemporary art world, this joyously devious monologue elevates all that is trashy in life into a call to arms to "filth followers" everywhere.

Martin is a busybody know-it-all who runs (or tries to run) the community. His uptight personality drives some of his neighbours up the wall. His real life starts on Friday night when he gets home to his committees, supported by his faithful followers, Howard and Hilda. His patient and loving wife, Ann, however is often driven to despair by her husband's schemes and receives more attention from their new neighbour, Paul, than she gets from Martin!

Written by the successful team of John Esmonde and Bob Larbey, Ever Decreasing Circles was first broadcast by the BBC in February 1984. Richard Briers, Penelope Wilton and Peter Egan star in this popular suburban-set comedy. This box set features all four series of the hit comedy show.
