Just checking around for a new double bed (that we need right now!), and after checking Tesco, Sainsburys, Argos, PoundsStretcher and Homebase, this works out the cheapest if you take in to account you get a half decent double mattress with it as well! Seems decent enough the storage is a little bit of a con as the draw is only half sized...

Argos are selling the bed frame along for £160 depending on whether you need a mattres or not. With the same cloud 9 mattress from argos it's topping £250 minimum.

You can get the frame alone with the same discount from homebase for ~£136 delivered if you already have a mattress :)

Looks like a pretty decent deal, voted hot.

A word of caution.
You will definitely need a supplementary mattress underneath the one supplied.
I bought an almost identical bed from Argos (owners of Homebase) a few years ago.
Despite having a top of the range mattress it rapidly became uncomfortable due to the wooden slats.

I agree, i had a similar one from Argos a few years ago ... was the Nordic model ... didnt last long really, drawer came apart and borders of the bed came loose very quickly

You really must have made that bed rock!! I guess the whole Nordic model must have brought out the Viking in you!!

It won't really be getting used, spare bedroom thing, so it should last a fair while. I don't expect too much for the price tbh! Only 50 minutes left on the voucher though that makes it this price :)

Yeah it's a good price for a spare or whatever, but I wouldn't expect the mattress to hold up for long without giving you real ache issues!

So do you have a mattress stacked on top of another? Is it secured or just sitting on top? I've got an IKEA bed with slats and the mattress is getting unbearable!

Thanks!
