its such a shame that all the sockets with usb only do 1amp a socket. id much prefer 2 amp sockets for faster charging
#2
It says 2amp on the socket, is this wrong then?

says this in the descripton:
2 Amp intelligent split - 2 Amp is split between the 2 USB ports however each port only pulls the required power, allowing an optimum charging rate rather than a reduced slower rate

Ordered. Thanks. At least I know it'll arrive unlike the last eBuyer deal!

Nice one!
I think this is the future. No more searching for your charger that someone "tidied up". Also like the metal design, that presumably makes it less of a fire risk too. That was my main concern when these type of sockets (but in a chinese plasticy version) first appeared.

Most devices use 1 amp, such as phone chargers. it doesn't matter If the socket has 5 amp the transformer in the phone will only use the correct amount.

I also require 2amp tho for the iPad

So instead you can have a Chinese electrocutey version instead.
As a 3 pin plug fine, 24hr on USB ports are an energy drain and fire hazard. Buy an anger 5 port charger, built in IQ charging and the ability to unplug it.

Tried fitting these but you need deep cavities as they have a built in transformer lump. Wouldn't fit in my walls sadly as the mains cable in the wall was in the wrong place.

I have tried an alternate brand of these, but had to remove them when they proved incompatible with my Homeplug/Powerline adapters. Your experience may vary, of course, and I would be happy to hear whether this brand supports them.

I would dispute most of what you say. And what is anger charger? I suspect a Freudian slip, mayhaps? :p
