Excellent price as according to find dvd elsewhere this is £11.95 to £16.99

Director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man trilogy, Evil Dead series) returns to the horror genre with Drag Me To Hell, an original tale of a young woman's desperate quest to break an evil curse.

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, Professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks (David Paymer), and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home.

In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse?

Didn't like this movie at all.

It wasn't what I was expecting. More funny than scary. The part where the old dears teeth came out and she tried to gum the young bird was very funny.

That Sam Rami for ya, brilliant comedy horror! You must have seen the Evil Dead films, 2 being the one to watch IMO?

Yeah, guessed the ending before it happened (at its 'set up' really).
Thought Mrs Ganish must be a relative of Marilyn Manson's Brian W. She did look creeepy in the car fight as she emerged from the darkness.

This film was almost good... the talking Barnyard animal spoiled it for me (amongst other things), however...

I feel the general consensus here is this is a RUBBISH movie. I'll add to that. Absolutely terrible, don't waste your time. Not scary at all, and pretty comical. I wouldn't even buy this for £1.

The ending was so obvious

This was quite a funny film. I enjoyed it. Different to what I usually watch.

Obvious? Finding out she was actually Stefanie Powers and that the satanic entity following her was a reincarnation of a former hair-do? I didn't see it coming

Sorry... I've not just ruined the end for everyone have I?

was going to watch this on box office this week, looked on rottontomatoes and reviews gave it 92%

Make up your own mind on this one. I actually quite enjoyed it and there were a few very scary moments in it. Mind you there were also a few utterly ridiculous moments that i could have done without but overall quite enjoyable.

I liked the film, I don't go on what other people say when they say a film is crap before I have watched it myself, watch it then say if you like something or not, I have done this in the past when some have said they have not liked something then watched it my self and liked the film alot.

I loved this film, recommend. Can't think of a better Horror Comedy

Class film - Thanks for the £7 @ Tescos tip off!
#18
Is this the director's cut/extended version? There's quite a difference between the two (unlike Terminator Salvation!) with lots more gore and 'shock' effects added to most of the scenes.

Fantastic movie, Sam Raimi doing what he does best. Tex Avery-esque horror/comedy. Talking animals. Yes, this is what he does.

Excellent film, lots of jumpy parts, and some great comedy bits, I expect the people who hated this have never seen any Sam Raimi horror movies and expected the usual contemporary horror nonsense.
