Director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man trilogy, Evil Dead series) returns to the horror genre with Drag Me To Hell, an original tale of a young woman's desperate quest to break an evil curse.

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, Professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks (David Paymer), and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home.

In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces clo

What happened to Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) in this movie should happen to all the greedy Bankers & MP's that have come to light recently!

I think it's quite a marmite movie.
I for one really disliked it, i couldn't wait to leave the cinema.
It will probably be £2.99 soon anyway :)

Great film!! - Sam Raimi back on Evil Dead comedy horror form.

This is the only film I've ever had to look away from the screen for (I was quite drunk in the cinema when I saw it)... so therefore I'd say it's worth a shot!

Ridiculous film, not scary but a few 'jumpy' moments...and one unintentionally hilarious scene with a goat which caused half the cinema audience to burst into laughter when we watched it.

It was overated

Such a strange coincidence that this should be posted, watched The Hurt Locker last night (which I got from ASDA when it was £6, great film) and there was a trailer for Drag Me to Hell on there, did a search on the net for it after the film and saw it was £5 on Play and also on amazon, so I ordered from amazon.

Pretty good film, but ignore the hype which billed it as the scariest film in years. Those of you who have seen Evil Dead (surely everyone?) will understand that Raimi's "horror" films aren't strictly scary.

Agreed - the talking goat was like something out of Wallace and Gromit. Rubbish CGI throughout the whole movie and very un-scary

Terrible film! I wouldn't pay a penny for it!

have to agree, not worth the time to watch it :S

anything voted over 6/10 in the imdb.com is worth watching and this movie scored 7.2/10 from over 22.000 votes. I can honestly say i watched it and thought it was good. Good with the occasional funny bits, it's a horror but its NOT scary, we tend to laugh at the bits that make us jump and the laugh at the silly bits...so it's a decent watch and would put a smile on your face guaranteed ...

IMDB doesn't mean its a good movie.
The Hurt Locker recieved way more Oscars than Avatar, yet Avatar is the biggest selling movie of all time, the most expensive movie of all time, and has a higher IMDB rating. Not to mention it being in 3D.

Dont tell me - tell the 92% of movie critics that voted it a hit.

92% isnt some arbitrary score - its the ratio of good/bad reviews.
