Got one recently, agreed, a steal it is............or should that be steel

Not bad quality and good for general diy, will take a lot of stick, at this price you could buy two lots.

cheers for the deal ,just what I wanted at a great price .I initially wanted a 10mm & 13mm and was looking at separate spanners at Makro last week . The 10mm was just under 3 quid plus VAT . So, for £7.81 I'm getting a good deal.

Maybe this is just a personal thing, but I really don't rate Draper kit.

Totally agree. My dad used to buy Draper kit if available, still got some of it around the house. It was good quality, certainly not snap-on but did the job and lasted. The 'value' and normal Draper brand now is total rubbish. The 'expert' range is ok but nothing special.

I know some of you are going to go on about snobbery. But the amount of times i have tried to cut a corner by buying cheap tools only to realise what a waste. You usually end up breaking something if not the tool, wasting a load of money and then buying something decent anyway. Bit like the 'fairy economy' adverts.

I picked up a good set of comb spanners from Halfords for £15 about a month back.

ok for those of us that loose our 10,12,13mm all the time i must have 6 or 7 15 mm spanners around so wont gain any more in this set

Draper is an odd tool company. They seem to put their name on tools of varying quality in a very haphazard way. That means you can't be sure of what you're buying unless its from the expert range. This has nothing to do with tool snobbery. If I take a chance, buy a cheap tool and it turns out to be goodun, I'm as pleased as the next man. If it lets me down though, I vow never to do it again.

I would be interested to know what variation there could be between sets of chrome vanadium spanners.

thank you h&r left looking for stocking filler for hunny this will do nicely :0)

This may sound like a wind up but lidl ring spanners are some of the best ive seen, the quality is fantastic and the price is about 2 quid cheaper than this, admitedly they aren't combination spanners but seriously the quality is much better than what has become of draper.

Halfords spanners are made by draper....

For those who have an idea about what they are buying its fairly easy to buy good tools cheap. If you use a tool a lot then buy a better quality one but if you wont use it very much then buy a cheaper one, not rubbish but not professional quality either.
A set of ok quality spanners will last most people a lifetime whereas a set of cheap screwdrivers or drill bits probably wont. Ive bought loads of tools over the last 30 years and learned a lot. I bought my spanners about 20 years ago and at first used and abused them for a living but now use them only occasionally. They were a cheaper set than these. Many times ive looked at them and thought maybe I will get a new better set but then I think why?
This looks like a good deal, as was the lidl ring spanner deal (I bought them too), and unless you are using them every day then I would expect them to last years.

Nope. Draper dont make any tools, just like Hafords. What they do is buy them from someone else and re brand. Some of the Draper 'expert' range is same as Halfords Advance.
