What test procedures did you use to evaluate the Hoses and come to this Professional analysis

Erm... I wound it onto the hose spool and it didnt kink to buggery like the almost NEW hoselock one that came with the spool...which is why I went looking for a replacement - that good enough for you? Oh and the diameter of the hose wall is thicker. Oh and it doesnt crush as easily and consequently doesnt knot up. In fact if you hold them side by side you'd have to be blind with no hands not to notice the difference in quality. But...if you want to conduct a 'professional test'....feel free!

Did you compare like with like? The yellow colour-coded Hozelock Professional hose is very good. :)

But not £10.39 for 30m.

Just in time for the inevitable ban!

Any good deals on getting a hose with one of these? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hozelock-Metre-Empty-Hose-Reel/dp/B0017RKEJ2/ref=pd_cp_diy_2

Or should I buy this draper one, and one of those things separately. Which btw WTF do they do that makes them so expensive?!
#12
Good price, my hozelock has bubbled up because I accidently left the tap on one night, and now the flow is terrible so I could do with a new one

Now now there's no need to be an **** about it. I have one of these and incidentally it's coupled to a similarly priced hoselock hose to give me one long hose and the bit that's always causing the problem with kinking (despite being the reinforced type) yes the Hozelock one so I tend to agree with the OP. That's my entirely amateur opinion, assuming there is some kind of professional out there that's qualified to make such statements about hoses perhaps this is you?

Nah - I compared it with the crappy but kinky(!) hoselock hose that comes with their hose holders!

You can't find it because it's out of stock now unfortunately - looks like we both missed out on this deal .
#18
Presumably the same thing from Toolstation isn't much more expensive.

Gardena - thats Husqvarna isn't it? They're ok - but when it comes to hoses, these are no worse and a lot cheaper + its always better for the environment to buy things locally produced than shipped half way around the world like the Husqvarna ones!!

Do you think these are not made in China like everything else nowadays?
#24
The best hose I've ever used is made by Alfaflex [yellow coloured anti-kink ect]- a french company - which I bought in a Farm supply shop. Must have it 15 years now and still going strong! [permanantly left outside BTW]

Wouldn't have an idea on current pricing levels, but I recall it was no dearer than a decent quality 'normal' hose at the time of purchase...

Well - I've got one of the Draper ones and it says 'Made In Great Britain' on the label, and on the enclosed leaflet and the hose itself is stamped with 'Made In Great Britain' - so unless they're lying - i think i can safely say its not made in china..!!

Mine too - amazing!
#32
Anyone measured the hose to see it is really 30m long.
#33
Well, my old one was 30 metres, and this one reaches to the same point in the garden, so I'm guessing it must be 30 metres too - unless there's some hose manufacturers conspiracy to sell all hoses short!
