Theses things are epic. HOT!
#5
Just remember these are clones. and £50 is around the price for clones
#6
What does this actually do then?

Im currently running sky hd....Ive got a quad LNB ....2 feeds to my HD box and a spare i currently have not connected to anything.

What will the dreambox allow me to do from a standard sky dish?

Thanks
#7
This is 'clone' box not Dreambox, so please correct topic header.
The price is good, just don't use Gemini with it or you may end up with a doorstop. PLI should be fine.
As for price, yes it is pretty good. Pity they don't sell other clones.

BTW, DM500 was discontinued by Dream Multimedia more than year ago, so if someone tries to sell you brand new DM500 - it'll be a clone.

all of these boxes are clones and made in china whereever you get them from , they are pretty reliable to be honest, there are other places that sell them around this price and they'll will mark it as under $40
#13
good find....
heard a few good things about these boxes, can these control and move motorised dishes?

take a look at wikipedia

Dont forget you may get hit with import tax + vat + RM handling charge which could add another £25 to the price
#19
$40 is £25 so its over the £18 customs limit, so if you are saying that you more than likely will be charged !

you may get hit with a customs charge, what is it 12%?

so even if they do charge you it will only be 12% of £7 not a lot really if you do get hit is it

In fact reading up on it the limit is £36 for a gift and this is what it is marked so you will not be hit by customs charges if you buy the dreambox hd clone form where i got it

they are all the same, for some reason they list 3 different models but you can only get a 800hd for satellite :)
#25

#26

You get charged , import tax + vat + a handling charge.

say import tax is 10% will be £4.50 = £49.50 ,vat on £49.50 = £7.42 = £56.92 + £8 RM handling charge = £64.92

If postage charge is displayed then also add this into to equasion !

Just because its marked as a gift dosent mean you wont get charged.

Most people dont get charged but it is a gamble.

If you buy goods and the declaration is found to be incorrect, you may be liable to financial penalties or prosecution. In addition, the goods may be seized. It is in your interest to ensure the sender completes the Customs declaration accurately

Ive just got rid of my technomate, wish I hadnt now!

Can I simply buy this, connect to exisiting motorised system, and away I go? OR does this baby NEED to be connected to the internet 24/7???
#29
Comes to £49 when checking out.... is there a code thats needed?
#30
souljacker
that's roughly what $77.66 convers to, so the op is wrong

So the title is wrong? Its £49 total price yeah?
#31
Purchased! for £50 delivered I took the gamble!
#32
souljacker
you'll be glad you did mate, very good bit of kit for £50

Cool! So all I need now I take it is another router as I can then run it from my cable connection downstairs. I'll hook this baby up to router, flash an image on it, hook it up to my exisiting motorised setup, and away I go? I need to read up on CS then as well!
#33
massmail666
you need to pay a monthly fee to the CS client.

Not much though is it??? Roughly how much for say sly italia?

Ive heard there are some FREE cs's out there too??

Closed for now, if you want to discuss the Dreambox in general, please use the Miscellaneous forum. Thanks.
