No it isn't, it dropped to this in the last week or so.
Great movie, shame about the poor quality UK blu-ray

But seriously, heat added.

But seriously, heat added.

It's very well known the the script for Dredd was written well before The Raid, however it was leaked online and it's suspected that that's where the script for The Raid came from. So if true the producers of The Raid had to rush through their film to get it out before Dredd, so it didn't look like they ripped off Dredd, however the likely case is they did.

The long and the short is Dredd is the one that came first in production terms, because it was written and shot before The Raid, but a very long post-production meant it came out after The Raid.

It's such a nuisance, because The Raid should be one everybody is calling a rip-off.
This is a great film, I hope they do a follow up but probably not :(
This film is good, no one can doubt that. But it doesn't matter which film came up with the premise of the story first, the raid is a much better film. As far as the deal, I've only ever seen this going for £6 so good deal. heat from me
Oh please people, enough with the Raid comparisons. That's like saying every movie ever made about a high rise ripped off Die Hard. The Raid was a very different movie from Dredd, and I enjoyed Dredd much more as the character finally got the serious remake he deserved.

I just hope someone pulls their finger out of their a*se and makes an equally enjoyable sequel. Surely the movie made enough from DVD sales to make up for the (poor) cinema profits. And it does have a cult following now too.
