Works well with the 360 Gamepad
Works well with the 360 Gamepad
I have it through Ubistore (not steam) and it works fine with the 360 gamepad too.
I wasn't using a 360 gamepad, just a normal gamepad that has worked fine with every other game I've used it with but when you try and map the buttons in this game it doesn't work, I've tried the 360 emulator drivers but that didn't work either, I can't see why the developers couldn't code a simple controller setup into the game? Looks like the only option is to buy a 360 pad but that would cancel out the cheap price I paid for it.... Hmm, anyone know where I can get an extremely cheap 360 gamepad?

Do you have a PS3 pad knocking around? If you do you can get a £1 bluetooth adapter off Amazon and download a freeware program called motioninjoy - thats what I do. I refer to it as "360 pad" just because it has a mode that emulates the 360 pad and works with everything I've used so far. It's actually better as it allows you to set up multiple profiles and even use the pressure sensitivity that the PS3 pad has.
Failing that you can get a 360 wireless adapter clone off ebay for around £7-£8 which you will need to be able to use a wireless pad. I don't know what 360 pads are going for nowadays, but I've got a load I'm chucking on eBay or on the for sale section here tomorrow, but I don't imagine they are worth more than £5-£10 used - though I could be wrong, I haven't actually looked yet. Either way, weigh up how much it will cost you for one and an adapter and put that against how much a wired one would cost. You'd probably be better buying a brand new wired pad, which (for official) I believe you can get for around £20 new.

you could try xpadder, thats good software for mapping controllers
Thanks, I've tried x360ce but that didn't work so I'll give that one a go.

It's the best arcadey 'hoonabout' game released in years - it's only downside is that it's a BIT of a skinner-box in terms of there being endless things to collect and unlock (although almost all but the core story bits are entirely optional).
If you have ANY interest in throwing cars around, doing tricks, drifts, stunts, chases, races in a variety of cars (and being able to change cars almost anytime you like) then you cannot miss this.
Don't let the floating excrement which were the last few Driver games put you off here - this is a rock-solid classic...
Purchased, have some heat :)
