The location of the track is Prestwold Hall, Leicestershire (Midlands).

Does anyone know if the 4 laps are driven by you? Im guessing so, as it says you must have held a license for at least a year, but want to avoid disappointing my brother.
#3
anyone know of one of these that gives you a proper drive not just 4 laps...Id love to do a proper drive and reall throw it about
#4
Typical - I'm 6ft7 and therefore cant do this. I bet I'd fit though...i'm sure if Clarkson does at 6f6!

I got one of these (wasn't asda entertainment and not this track) but im sure they're all similar. You drive the car but the car had dual controls, meaning that when I went to drop the car down a gear for the corner (ready to accelerate hard on the straight) the instructor stopped me and made me leave it in gear. Pretty annoying but I did enjoy the experience.

my bro went on a ferrari one once, sat in with an instructor and was only allowed to rev to about 4,500 RPM so its more of a pootle around than a throw around.

I think a proper one you need to pay a few hundred for

I've done this at Prestwold Hall myself. Drove an R8 and a Murcielago.

You get to drive a 100% normal car, no dual controls or anything like that.

It's very well run by Everyman Racing, look them up.

I'd say for the money, it's a great deal.

I'm going to vote this cold, not because its bad deal, but because this is BuyAGift.co.uk powered site (just rebranded as Asda), and you can get the same price/product on the buyagift site, and there is a 20% discount voucher.

code: NATWEST (or a few others around on hukd)

total, inc delivery £49.19

EDIT: I've just created a new thread for that deal, because I cant see that anyone has seen it yet

With these ........ i have done a fair few .... silverstne is the best as they give you a proper drive . When I say that I mean you get to hammer the cars as much as you want ..... The R8 you can rev to as much as you like but they do have dual controls ...

Silverstone is the only decent track they allow you to do this on all driving expericences . I dont the single seat one again last week .... very fun!!!

Have a look at Thruxton also... No dual controls or 'speed restrictions' there! It is more expensive but totally worth it.

I took a Lambo Gallardo around Prestwold Hall and it was fantastic - I love my fast cars and thought I was going some in this one, but the instructor kept telling me to floor it and go faster!! It was a great day out and the facilities were brilliant - they also do good deals for extra laps and experiences once you are there. I accompanied my brother to one of these driving experiences somewhere in North Oxfordshire - the track and facilities were not a touch on Prestwold Hall.

I'd second that. I did a ferrari 355 plus driving day at thruxton and got a pretty decent amount of time driving, it involved -
3x passenger laps in a mazda sport hatchback, learning the track.
4x laps driving a porsche cayman
4x laps driving a ferrari 355
5x laps driving a formula renault single seater
1x final passenger lap where the instructor gives it some welly

I was given this as an xmas gift but i believe it costs about £250 and although i know that's not cheap, I would say its pretty good value. I'm fairly sure you can use tesco clubcard vouchers in part payment which quite possibly makes it cheaper than this. Only negatives I would say are: in-car videos are £50 (for all of your drives) which even though i did - i thought was a bit extortionate. Also the track only has a couple of tight corners and most of the track is a series of straights and long sweeping corners - however this does mean you can really get some speed up which makes it great fun if its the first time you've ever done a driving experience day.

Also tiff needell was there on the day I went along - and apparently is often there at the circuit power sliding people around in a bmw m3 which is fantastic to watch
