shame about the choice, or lack of, free games. Guess you may be able to trade them in for something decent;-)
#2
Excellent deal
#3
Sounds good, don't think you'll get a better offer even with xmas comin up. Cheers tuts-is-me
#4
in mho i think the argod deals is much better at #199.95 with a #10 voucher back if you buy before the 30th oct, rach to their own i suppose, it really depends what you want in your bundle
#5
Does that include the new silver one?
#6
the argos deal includes the silver one. i got one yesterday in sheffield bought £100 voucher first and got £10 giftcard then bought the £119.95 deal with free cooking mama and accessory pack and spare stylus using both the £100 giftcard and £10 giftcard - best bit is the cashier then gave me another £10 giftcard - hope shes not in trouble today!!
#7
will this be pushed instore? Or will I have to go in and say... I saw the deal on the internet?

On the Argos website under the terms and conditions of the free gift voucher deal it states as condition no 9:

"Excludes the purchase of gift vouchers using gift vouchers as a method of payment".

I think you might have been lucky.
#9
Doing that is all above-board, and I have done it a number of times, as you are *not* using vouchers to buy vouchers, as:

1) You use cash/credit to buy a £100 voucher and get £10 voucher

2) You use the vouchers to buy the item worth £100 or over, and get £10 voucher
#10
Oh right I get it now doh, I read it wrong.
#11
If the games appeal to you this is an excellent price - a DS and two good free games for £94.97!
I'm not sure I understand the Argos deal  - but if I'm right you buy £100 of vouchers and get a free £10 voucher - then use those and another £9.94 to get the DS, free game, 'essential' kit and spare stylus kit. So the cash outlay here is £109.94 (although you do have a £10 voucher to play with).
If you really wanted any of the games in the Argos offer you might be able to pick them up for less than the £19.99 Argos price (e.g. Chronicles of Narnia £11.99 at softuk).
#12
I had no problem doing the argos deal in Blandford, which seems like the better deal to me anyway
#13
maybe i will be cheeky and say to teh guy on teh counter if i can get the console reduced if i dont take the games  the worst thing he can say is no, so ill give it a go.
#14
Personally I think this is the better deal out of the two...fact of the matter is, like the games or not, if you have a CEX handy they will give you £13 cash (£16 exchange) for Sonic Rush Adventure & £12 cash (£16 exchange) for Drawn to Life.

Now if my maths doesnt fail me, a whole £25 off the asking price of £94.97 meaning that the DS Lite on its own is a princely £69.97.

Going the exchange route you get £32 towards some other DS lite titles.

However if I was to be buying (already have a DS Lite) I would get the cash from CEX and put that £25 towards a R4DS which are around the £30 mark.

As far as I am concerned this is an amazingly hot deal for getting a DS Lite as cheap as they sell on their own in america ($129.95)
#15
great deal that been looking for my little girl
get an extra 10% off as i work for asda
hope i can get the pink one
thanks for the heads up

1.Using cash to buy £100 worth of voucher and get a free £10 voucher
2.Buy DS Lite any colour with Zelda Phantom Hourglass deal with DS Lite Shell Case and Flip Game Case (RRP £25)

For total of £109 and get another £10 voucher at Argos is the best deal IMO.
#17
Will this definetly be in store tomm? Cause i dont want to go all the way to Asda and them say there is no such deal lol. What newspaper will it be in?

Also i think this is better than the Argos deal as someone stated earlier, if you trade in those games at CEX it makes it worth the while no?
#18
Well this is certainly a nice offer, it depends if people want/can get to CEX to trade the games in, £28 trade in will buy you Zelda in most places but how long the games will stay at that trade in price is unknown, plus you dont get any accessories with the Asda DS so by the time you buy a case it probably works out very similar. Argos you get a fantastic game, quality cases for games and DS and a £10 voucher all in one place, less hassle IMO, and more likely to be in stock.
#19
game still trading in games?

this is deff on its going to be a linksave prob in the sun:santa:
#21
Linksave in the sun? Does that mean ill need a coupon or something? Not really familiar with the Sun's offers lol
#22
Asda often have an offer on the last thursday of each month, in sunderland they put them on the shelves from 9.00 in the morning cause its open 24hrs so it must be to make it fair. We got the 15" lcd/dvd player last month for £129.

Not too convinced with this offer tho think it could have been better games, sonics fine but never heard of the other

I doubt even the store manager would have the authority to override a central offer.

Can someone just confirm this deal for me, since the "go to deal" link just goes to Argos's home page, and there's been talk about using vouchers...

If I go into my local Argos tommorrow, can I hand over £94.97 cash and get a DS (in any colour), plus Drawn To Life & Sonic Rush Adventure ?

Thanks.

ASDA. You want to go to ASDA! :giggle:
#27
Doh ! I saw Argos mentioned whilst I was reading through this thread and.....

Anyway, getting to ASDA is no problem, and the "go to deal" link goes to ASDA's home-page rather than the deal itself, so can someone answer my original question (2 posts above this one - just substitute the word "Argos" for "ASDA" :)), thanks.
#28
My husband has called into Asda this morning and nothing????

They have the DS lite's but NONE of the 2 games mentioned??
No signs are up he has also gone throught he papers and could see nothing about this deal
So unless it starts at 9.00 a.m as someone mentioned - might try later
#29
I too phoned Asda this morning and the lady knew nothing about any specific deals.

However she did say that they are definatly getting some DS lite package deals later this week, but does not know when or what they contain.
#30
hi,
i can confirm this deal is legit, i have been down to the great bridge asda, got the pink ds lite and the 2 games stated for just shy of £95, top deal :-D
#31
Deal also on at Perry Barr, Birmingham. Fantastic buy.
#32
Sister in law finally got one this morning from asda (Minworth,Birmingham).
Beleive the deal is store specific as she'd already tried another store and nobody had a clue (they called Minworth and they said yes we'll hold one for her)
Nothing on display at all at minworth had to ask specifically for the DS deal with games.Guy then got on the phone and asked for one of the special packs to be brought out.

Thanks for the deal hope this helps.

Many thanks to OP

anyone seen the ad anywhere?
#35
I went to the asda at Crossharbour in London - no such deal, I'm afraid.
#36
Hi everyone, I thought asda deal was a good deal and bought a pink one this AM. I can always pass the games on. I also bought the 4gamers pink accessory kit for DSLite @ £15 and a 50p ScoobyDoo Skaters backpack to put it all in. If I get £20 for the games I would have still only spent £90. I'm happy, I hope dawter is come Xmas day!
#37
On the phone to my ASDA now, lets see what they say!! Has anyone actually seen the advert in the paper?
#38
#36 - the lady in the Asda by me didnt know about it until I prompted her, its on the overnight deals that come down from head office (she said). Go to the Entertainment section, the assistant brought out the printed deals and one page was specific to this deal. Hope this helps. It only last for 3 days too.
#39
So should i just go down there and say something or ask over the phone first?

(Was on hold for ages and they just cut me off lol)
