It's pathetic really, if they're such connoisseurs and really think cod/haddock is better then why the hell are they eating fish fingers lol...

I'd rather eat Alaskan Pollock anyway, at least then I know the fish was caught sustainably, i.e., not ploughing the seabed with a trawler.

By coincidence I have just bought these. They are reduced from £3.99 to £1, which is a bargain. We have had them before and they are pretty nice. I can't honestly tell the difference between these and cod or haddock ones.

Also reduced are frozen salmon fillets - half price now (about £5 I think), and they have some frozen burgers in a pack of 4 for £1 - Sizzlers BBQ Feast. They are 80% meat and pretty good too for frozen ones.

Whenever I go to my sainsburys they never have them even at full price.

thank you OP, I will go today and grab some if I can. Kids don't notice the difference between cod/haddock and this. Saying that I always buy the names fish fingers as I do wonder what the value ones are like.

£2 at my local sainsburys, (Swansea)

Sorry! Still an alright price tbf. Value ones are usually minced fish (like a value chicken kiev) which isn't so great..

And Alaskan Pollock is being overfished and causing problems, so that blows your argument out the water!

Not in "our" waters though

Folks their is no debate.
Pollock is cheap to buy.
Cod is expensive.
It's like buying Rump steak V stewing steak.
If you cann't tell the difference, stick to Carlsberg instead of Staropramen!

Think these were on offer at Tesco's recently at £3.99, but one get two free, so this deal is much better (99p!!) if it can be had...
#12
Can confirm deal at Weston super mare and bridgwater. It was on promo previously as buy 1 and get 2 free at £4 and now this is surplus stock being cleared from that promo

One of the problems is people think pollock isn't as good as cod just because it's not what they're used to.
