Where can I find a program to make the 100k work.
lovol
The image I tried to upload didn't work, the camera looks like this, but it is the '300k version', not the '100k version' you find when searching online. (100k is really bad, 300k is bearable for a basic webcam).

Sounds like you chose Clearance Bargains and not Electrical Clearance when you posted the deal.

Think you need to clarify if this an Argos Clearance Bargains store (I thought the only one was in Corby but I may be wrong OR Dixons stores group Electrical Clearance store..

For some reason it is linking you to a different website. This deal is only available at the clearance store at the sealand retail park (greyhound) chester. They don't have a website and there stock is mostly ex display, old stock or missing boxes etc. Although this tv was un opened and the current model, £399 in currys across the road!

So can anyone just walk into these places then or is it a trade member thing?

Cheers

VGA supports up to 2048x1536, but it's an analogue signal so you can expect noise, & only the primary colours are sent meaning the monitor has to decode and virtualize colours itself, giving bad contrast & colours, & slowing down frame rate & response time...
& yes, there is no sound, which isn't too much of a drawback considering almost all people have a Hi-Fi or surround-sound system.

I'd recommend using a DVI-D cable or even a DVI cable over a VGA cable any day, the picture will just look much nicer.
DarrylJohn
VGA Supports 1080p. Just don't expect sound.

Don't worry, I understand the general characteristics of the forums perfectly, I just think all the sarcastic criticism thrown at me is a bit unjustified..

Mate, I don't think you understand how this place works. You don't post one deal for the best kind of monitor in any particular range.

Some people will live near these shops and don't want to pay that extra £30 for an LED monitor. For example, I think this is hot because I live in Sheffield, not too far from Chesterfield. I need a dual screen setup for work so I could get two of these for £134. Sheer screen quality isn't that important for my work, so why would I consider your LED monitor hotter than this?

Sometimes a monitor is great spec for a decent price, but that price is just a little too high for people to look at it and think "hot deal".

Sorry Banny - I don't but when I went in there were a stack of 15 or so....didn't get one in the end, they look great but i needed a Visa mount to attach them to a frame which was missing. The backs are just curved plastic without any holes basically. Not a prob for most people but my requirements were pretty specific.

There are a shedload of others - all different shapes and sizes but all Packard Bell from what i could see.

Thanks mate - I happen to live 200 metres away from this place and was just about to buy three screens for a driving simulator frame thingy from somewhere else, which would have been a fair bit more pricey.

Just hope they have some left when I get there after work!

They are £79.99 in the Chesterfield store also, but the manager was happy to price-match their Chester branch and I got it for £50. They had loads of them in stock. For anyone familiar with Foscam FI8908 models, the Edimax seems substantially better made and with better supplied software, but it doesn't have night vision IR capability.

Oh, and the motor is considerably noisier than a Foscam ;)

Can anyone comment on how noisy these are when panning and tilting?

I run a guest house and I'd like to put these in all the rooms. I have cameras in the rooms at the moment, but often my guests will move out of frame just as it's getting interesting.

I wouldn't want to disturb them with noisy motors whirring, as we pride ourselves on providing our customers with a relaxing stay.

Thanks
