Thanks managed to reserve one at a nearby store. Not in stock in 2 other local stores, I think stock will be limited everywhere as it isnot available for home delivery.

got one of these at home, its excellent. Even plays some divx stuff.

Got mine back in december. This was just getting released, i went in to store, ordered the old one (using £10 off voucher, and gained another one that day too!), and walked out with the wrong TV (model up = this one!)

Very happy. Got it for about £150, but with vouchers off, but still a good price for a good all round TV.

the 26" is only analog and has no DVD built in. But if size is important, it's a better deal.

ajay87 - Even plays some divx stuff??? It does not mention DivX in the desription. Which play and which don't? I'd be very interested if this plays my (mainly) XviD movies.
#7
It supports MPEG4 according to the manual. Not Divx certified but still plays most things I've thrown at it. It also has a USB port for memory sticks. Drive a little loud during operation. Remote control a bit odd in that when you use the DVD the TV functions also trigger. Standby LED *VERY* bright - ended up putting some tape on it. Wall mountable using standard 100x100 VESA.

Picture quality excellent (though I've got a stuck pixel on the one I've got). Sound seems to have an annoying background noise at low volumes - may be due to the poor freeview reception I've got here though.

Just reserved one in Lincoln for my bedroom so seems they are available again (picked the last one up in Grantham before Xmas for kiddies bedroom)

Yeh it's played most of my Xvids and other movies. So it does play most things i throw at it too. USB slot is useful, and can play music, pics, or video through it via that.

Remote is good.

Sound sync when playing SOME dvd's is often off. Not by much, but i notice it!!

We bought it for the kitchen, got a £25 mount from ebuyer, and it's fantastic. Excellent picture quality.

Yes drive is a little loud when playing discs. All round this it is brilliant.

Does it play DVD-R's?

I had annoying background noise on another brand of tv/dvd combi at Argos, took it back and exchanged it, but that was the same. I thought it was my reception at 1st, but then realised it had it on dvd play also.

Looking for another now, but if this has the same problem, I'll keep looking.

Whenever I click these deals I always think there will be 2 screens, then I see that Dual is the make. Dual are quickly becoming my most hated manufacturer.
Nice deal though, voted hot.

Please help the silly people!

Is this one at Amazon any better?

But that one doesn't have the built-in DVD player?

I've been waiting for a telly with freeview/dvd/19" to dip below £200 and thank to the poster of this deal I've been down this morning and got one of these.

Now, I got it out, tested it. All fine until I tried the DVD player. Dead, will not even take the disk.

Hmmm. Didn't fancy packing it up, taking back to Argos, queuing for 1/2 hour, getting another one home, unpacking testing and finding another fault (if they even had stock).

So, I whipped the DVD off the back. Seems to be a retro-fitted afterthought. Because of the length of the cables it was impossible to add/remove without removing the entire back of the TV.

So, I took the whole thing apart and reset the DVD connectors back into their sockets, then fitted the DVD player to the back panel and re-assembled. Most connectors are sealed on with varnish-like sealant but not the DVD ones (there are two, one for control and video the other for power supply). It took about 10 minutes in total, far more preferable than 1.5 hours it would have taken to return it .

Now it's all working I am delighted with it. Listened for the sound problems mentioned in this thread and there are none, although the sound is a little hollow and tinny. Overall the quality as a bedroom TV is superb for the money, and for comparison I have a 37" Panasonic Viera as main TV. It's done an excellent job freeing up space in the bedroom.

I think the admin would probably like me to warn against opening the telly up yourself, and it should definitely not be plugged in to the electricity supply if you do. And it may invalidate warranties. (not that anyone could prove I opened it - or would even check).

Edit: Forgot to mention, it has a proper power switch so you can shut it down completely - not just leave it on standby.

Thanks for this post. I`ve also been looking for a cheap lcd TV with freeview and DVD. Reserved mine from the High Wycombe branch and they are in stock there. Would like to get a wallmount for it too. Can one of you that have it tell me whether this TV has the standard VESA mount fittings.

Standard vesa 100x100 mount. You can pick up a cheap wallmount for about a tenner (Sainsburys, Glynn Web, B and M)

Yes. It has a USB port. I guess there is no reason why you couldn`t use it as a Digital Picture frame.

Just wanted to say thanks for this, ideal for the bedroom, got shut of 3 boxes (CRT TV, Freeview box and DVD player) in one fell swoop. The USB is a huge bonus, so far has played every DiVX file I've chucked at it. Combined with that Tesco Direct wall bracket for a fiver a winner all round!

Just wondering if anyone knows whether this TV has a slot for a Setanta viewing card. i have got a Sony IDTV as my main TV and we have a Cam plugged in the back to take the card. As i am often banished to the bedroom to watch the footie i needed to know if i can transfer this. Just managed to reserve the last one in the West Midlands i think but need to know as i am due to collect tomorrow,
