Cold voters want to share their reasons?

Any suggestions for better deals would be useful and appreciated :)
#3
all i would say is it is P.Bell (imo not very good build quality) and reconditioned but i voted it hot as it is certainly bargainous!
#4
Spec is ok, Also It dosent have the god awful GMA950 graphics, Radeon X200M which still not great is better that most of the very budget lappys available
#5
personally I think this is a billy bargin even if it is reconditioned. no info on battery life which would be helpful and it is a little heavy at 3.5kg. But these are small thing given the price
#6
This is a superb price. Just ordered one. Thanks!!!

I've had two reconditioned packard bell's... not happy atall. 2nd was a replacement for the first one in Month 11 of the 12 month warranty. 2nd died about 6 months after I got it, so rightfully ******ed.

If the warranty is not by currys themselves then might be by specialist outsourced companies for reconditioned units, may well be with PA Business Systems, quality company and the guys know their beans! Downside is that you have to pay to send the laptop in for warranty, laptops being laptops will cost you around %u00A320 via Royal Mail, otherwise around %u00A312 with courier companies.

In my own experience would not recommend Packard Bell's, think my problem's were due to the laptops overheating, they did have P4 processors in them so that was probably the problem. did try to contact Packard Bell directly regarding the issues but they simply did not want to know.

Yeah, as it's a Pack Bell, I wouldn't touch it with yours.

Nice find tho.

DSG products, no support for laptops, when it goes wrong, they take months to repair laptops, no information given, get you to wait on premium numbers to get information (this way you pay for the profits and gucci bags for the directors wives). Don't buy laptops off dixons, currys or pcworld you have been warned. ""buyer beware"

some points to note

the T2060 processor is "just" a duo core - it is really a cut down T2050 with half the cache and was created by Intel for entry level Vista laptops.

That said it is still alot of lappy for the normal entry level price of £300 (if all codes and quidco are used)

On the positive side I bought a recon Packard Bell for my Parents at Christmas and they were delighted with it. It was in immaculate condition and has worked faultlessly ever since.

My experience of entry level Packard Bells is if you are careful with them they are OK. If used a desktop replacement it will be fine for most applications. Do not expect £d gaming of heavy video editing but other apps will be fine.

Be careful with the lid hinges (open and close gently) and be careful not to pull on the power plug / socket. Other than that should be a good laptop for the money. Nothing else really comes close.

BTW I have ordered one :-)

The popular NHS codes have not worked in a while, looks like DSG Group realised it was just a little abused :)
