There are two problems with this as we have had one for years.
1) you can;t set the volume for when the alarm goes off, it's too loud for us and we can't lower it
2) When the alarm goes off the brightness level of the display goes up,. once it's turned off it stays up so every night we have to set it to low again....

Thinking about it, we should get another one as it's a pain in the ass.

ripping off the highlands again,!

Actually its the courier companies imposing the additional charges. All our items from work have a £6 levy imposed by our courier for the H&Is.

I have got an Acoustic Solutions one that looks exactly like this one. It will not charge the iPhone and says it is not optimised for an iPhone, however it will play back music and the sound isn't too bad .... especially for £10.

I would recommend it. H&R added.

Damn. Shame it doesn't charge the iPhone.

have the AS branded version too, personally I think the sound quality is total garbage :\

does it have a headphone socket?

Yes and the person who negotiated the contract for your work got a lower price because of that ,

Its a shame that some of the "big " companies are not able to negotiate better, especially when they use the same carrier as those who do offer Uk wide prices

Like sheely I've got the Argos Acoustic Solutions branded one, must have been a deal here three or four Christmases ago! Argos originally wanted £80 quid for these.

If you're idea of a clock radio is still a tinny mono AM/FM box, then this is a major step up, decent sound, speakers are ported at the back so it manages a bit of bass. Well made, still using the original battery in the remote.

These were designed long before Apple swapped the charging rail on their docking connectors, I haven't upgraded my original iPhone so it charges that one fine. Not that I actually use it much for charging, don't want to knacker my battery with daily top-ups.

On the Argos model, when you're setting the alarm then click the alarm button to confirm, it lets you change the alarm buzzer to either high or low (displays "A-L" or A-H' and you set this via the tuner buttons, might have changed for the Dual one, but they look pretty much identical.

I also picked up the Argos Acoustic Solutions branded one and the sound quality is remarkable for something so small/cheap.

dont charge anything using the USB port on the top, marked for ipod shuffles
I charged my xbox controller through it and set the thing on fire. It survived but the ipod connector no longer plays sound, its all garbled.

AUX in still works.

Just a warning!

Sorry, unless I am doing something wrong the title of this is misleading... is FREE pick up at store only if your order is over £25 from what I can see. If you purchae only this item then its still £4.95 delivery to the store?

The identical Acoustic Solutions one has fantastic sound! It's been waking me up for the last 2 years :)
