DUAL DVD PLAYER - HDMI UPSCALING £20.00

Went to my local asda living and saw a Dual DVD player with upscaling. The player looks basic and is in black with no lcd but it does have HDMI output and support xvid. Ideal as a replacement player until bluray comes down in price.

Cheap as Chips!

This deal has been posted a few times before.

But the DVD player is very poor. Yes the picture quality is pretty good, so its OK if you can live with the noise / vibration of teh drive which can be easily heard in the background whilst watching DVDs.

Bought one of these for the bedroom TV but I think its going back.

Will leave this one up for now to reflect price drop

I saw those DVD players in my local Asda, but never mentioned anything about Xvid on box or I would've bought one?

I've had mine now for a while and have been comparing it's performance against my standard DVD being upscaled by my HD TV. Too be honest I prefer the old DVD player! It's not too noticeable most times however if you watch a predominately black image you can see the Dual is introducing noise into the picture. Still a great price and worth having (and mine isn't noticeable from the mechanical noise point of view). Just don't expect too much.

Maybe I will get mine swapped for another and see if the noise goes away. It still a nice cheap HDMI DVD player for the money.

I didn't buy one but recommended it to a few lads from work. They alll wanted a cheap player to go with their HD tv. Personally I spent a bit more and got a philips DVD player with HDMI.
