Dealextreme are selling Dualshock 3 clones for £18.60 each.

I personally have tested these and can say that there is no real difference between these and the genuine article. (Though some reviewers report harder to control analog sticks)

Also has a larger battery than the genuine ones, so you might want these over them anyway!

They are now compatible with ALL firmwares after sony locked the old ones out with 3.00.

With the cheapest genuine dualshock around £25 you stand to make at least £7 saving.

Isn't this counterfeit ? . I hope nobody tries to sell them on as genuine

As above. Poor quality too by reviews.

Why not pay the extra for official ones?
I have 2, and i don't regret paying the premium (I only ever use one, but that's not the point)

Comet had wired DualShocks in their bargin bin for £5.99 today (Lincoln)

Definately worth buying official rather than rip off one

Either PS2 controllers or awesome misprice :) Probably the former since I sure someone whould've posted this if it'd been the other.

Also why the cold votes guys, they're good quality cheap PS3 controllers and work just like official ones!

Why would Sony spend a lot of money developing a patch, to stop a very small amount of pads from working?

The answer is "They wouldnt"!

I guess you also need a dongle in a USB slot to make them work ?

You would of thought the same of Microsoft, but they disabled all 3rd party storage devices a couple of months ago ... :whistling:

I don't know about the PS3, but starting from the slim PS2, each revision of that console introduced more restrictions on third-party memory cards.

simply because for what its worth youd rather just go and buy the official theres not much difference in price.
but if it was for sumut like a tenner then its a good deal cos you can afford to replace it if it goes wrong

No entirely wireless via bluetooth no dongle required.

Memory cards are blocked as they are a potential route to circumvent copy protection / firmware...controllers arent!

Actually they have already done this once before, with FW 3.00

It happened to me. I had inadvertently bought a couple of fakes - at the time it didn't occur to me that there could even be fakes!

The 3.00 update definately blocked those-generation fakes from connecting wirelessly, google if you don't believe me.
