It doesn't seem that great a deal, still quite expensive for a controller.

For an extra pound you can have one in any colour you want from Supertronicsworld

Far be it for me to tell you how to list your deal but "The egarly awaited wireless controller.... "?

Seeing as the 'Egerly awaited controller' has been out since 2008, I'm thinking you just cut an pasted what was on site without reading.

Still a top deal though.

Of course I did copy and paste, no one even reads those descriptions, but you made a point so I will edit it :)

Sony DS3 controllers are rarely discounted anywhere so this is actually a great deal.

Hmm... Supertronicsworld look a tad suspicious to me... plus you can almost guarantee that the DS3s on their site will not be genuine Sony licensed products.

Anyone used this online retailer?

I was thinking the same thing... Says shipping by Hong Kong express (or something on them lines).

Have ordered with Amazon, better to be safe than sorry.

Just putting a question out there; how long does your charge last in terms of gaming hours? Recently, mine don't seem to last more than a few days (about 8hrs play)... Spose you can't replace the internal battery...

I ordered one less than a week ago for £31.97.
Have contacted Amazon for a refund.

Good price, have some heat.

I took a PS3 controller to pieces a couple of weeks ago as one of my trigger buttons stuck. You can change the batter and it's fairly easy to access. The only issue is putting the thing back together again as the trigger buttons are a pain in the ass. (Although I did it and I'm a girl who has never dismantled anything, ever).

Have a look on Youtube....

I haven't seen them cheaper than this - not since Sony themselves sold a load last year at £17.99.

Not sure if I should get another DualShock or go the Move + navigation route instead.

Would Move+Navigation be a substitute for the DualShock? I see the Navigation has the D-pad, thumbstick and the 4 buttons. Or am I expecting too much as a previous Wii owner.

I did this too (Yay us!) I had managed to spill gravy on the triangle button. Fitting those shoulder triggers back in is something I never, ever wish to experience again.

The battery seems to last ages on my controller despite it being used for nigh on hundreds of hours, tbh I'm suprised when I do have to charge it!

Hmmm...I have 3 DS3s at the moment with a RED DS3 on order with shopto for about £33. They keep putting the date back of release which is pretty annoying to say the least...this is tempting at almost a fiver less.

Most games at the moment (Especially old games) are not Move compatible, so it would be better having both controllers.

Aren't these always about £30 anyway?? I have purchased about 2-3 and never paid over that anyway.

Damn, I didn't know those weren't actually available over here yet.

There was a shop selling the red ones for around £20 each in Tokyo when I was there a few weeks ago. I knew I should have brought a couple back with me.

:)

I'm still using one of those controllers now.

You can also occasionally get them for around £25 with catalogue codes also but that's about the lowest price you will generally see.

oh if only Sony would sell these at a similar price to 360 pads, which regularly crop up sub-£20

wouldn't mind one to replace my sixaxis, but i don't miss rumble enough to shell out 30 quid or thereabouts for one.

* Pressure sensitive D-Pad

Xbox 360 Controller
Power Nickel-metal hydride battery, 2× AA, USB host powered

* 2× Analog triggers
* 11× Digital buttons (wireless controller features additional button for syncing purposes)

Connectivity Wireless (proprietary 2.4 GHz protocol), USB, 2.5mm headset jack

There's definitely more tech in the DS3 which obviously keeps manufacturing costs quite high, but you're right, i wish they were priced more around the 20 quid mark.
#25
pressure sensitive buttons don't really justify the extra cost, they used them in the PS2 pads so the tech has been around for donkeys, so production costs should be relatively low by now.

it just puts me off buying a new pad.

i know the 360 pad RRP is around the same price, it just seems to get more heavily discounted - which is always a bonus imo :)
#26
360 pad needs batteries or an additional battery pack, the ps3 controller doesn't.

I prefer the 360 pad personally though.

The production cost difference would be unchanged whether it be 1 year or 10 year old technology.

Most people buy one because they need one. :|

You think that ten year old tech is as expensive today as it was ten years ago - would you like to buy a Playstation for £400, might be able to chuck in Tekken and Ridge Racer if you are lucky.

Why do you think that prices drop eventually then?

It's not just the buttons that are better technology. So of course if the DS3 had less fancy stuff inside then it would be the same price as the 360 controller.

I really want a red controller, but I don't fancy buying Bionic Commando and repeatedly smashing the controller into my face.

Managed to get three from Sony last year when they mispriced these. The prices for these controllers are ridiculous; saying that this is a good deal though.

and that is funny how?

One of Amazons POLICYS is to always refund the difference if they ever drop the price of a product less then a month after you bought it. So he will get a refund for how much they discounted it, as he said. So tell me how is it funny that he is saying he is going to ask for the refund he is entitled to and will get?

And in reference to the price, PS3 pads are way over priced. can get 2 Xbox 360 controllers for this price possibly even have change if your lucky.

Had a 360 (well 4 in total) since launch and recently got a ps3. The pads are actually pretty good once you get used to them. Nice and light, as someone pointed out come with a battery - and mini usb cables can be had for next to nothing... if you factored in an official play n charge or battery with every 360 pad would cost more than this.

IMO they're better than the 360 for 3rd person/driving and when you need the dpad - but in FPSers the 360 pad is miles better :)

got one last year from Sony and haven't even used it yet. Stuck with my original one because i cant be bothered to open the packaging :p

Which you can guarantee wont work because the latest firmware kills fake pads.

£29 for something that will last you years is too much? 360 users spend that a year just for online play!

just found the controller for £27.98 delivered on a ever so popular auction site. But its only a pound ish difference so i'm going to go with Amazon for the peace of mind. Although Amazon seem to take over 7 days to delivery me anything, which gets a little tiresome.
