Price seems good to me. And these are a must have.

Why so cold?

Because people see the price and think "i can get a charging stand cheaper than this" - but dont realise this is a quality bit of kit

or they are against stands and just say "why pay for this when i can just charge it via a 99p cable"

The latter! A USB cable is way cheaper, does the job just as well and will proably last longer (and even if they don't they are pennies to replace if you don't already have a dozen kicking about the house). It's not a must have at all as it doesn't offer anything you don't already get out of the box. If it boosts the charge time by half or does something magical then maybe it would be a "must have", but all it is a dual USB cable routed through some plastic.

I dont like wires hanging out the front as ive got quite a large/neat tv setup

and i have 3 charging stands all neatly arranged for my ps3/ps4/xbox one

going by your logic its not worth me having my blu rays on shelf/stand as you know " i can just stack them up on the floor "

That's not my logic at all! I don't even want my controllers out on display. I must therefore have a neater set up than you. With a cable I can just put it on charge and slide it along side my PS4 and close my TV cabinet. These take up a shed load of space compared to just a cable, so your logic doesn't seem to make sense here. To have three charging racks seems insane and would not be considered tidy in my living room.

I suppose these must serve a purpose for those who want to spend over the odds to have their controllers constantly out on display. But that doesn't suit everyone, especially when your gaming has to fit around a sensible living space and not confined to a bedroom.

Your comparison to blu rays also doesn't work. Blu Rays can be neatly stacked in a bookshelf (which I'm sure most people do). Controllers are much more an awakrad shape to easily slot somewhere and even more so if you have them on a charging cradle.

But as far as value for money and functionality goes, you are paying £20 over the odds for a USB charging cable. I'm just telling you why the deal is cold. If it were £4.99 then it would be scorching hot I suspect.

yeah those charging cradles make it crazy difficult to slot the controllers away somewhere!

lol

Just got this to replace a cheaper charging dock. It's actually very small, and in theory could save electricity as it is mains powered and stops charging when full (unlike USB charging). It also sits the controllers the correct way up (not upside down to use micro usb like all others) this makes a massive difference, and stops you scratching the controller around the usb port.

It's not cheap, I took a while to justify buying one, but very glad I did. Would recommend if you like using a charging dock.

Nice price and definitely a much neater solution compared to trailing my current 3m cable across the living room.

Thanks!

These are super quality, the fact it charges the controllers independently from the console and them auto switching off is good enough for me. Superb build quality of the, aswell.

Wow. I'm amazed at the negativity in here. Having to constantly plug the controllers into the front of the PS4 is a pain in the ****. Added to that you have to put the PS4 in rest mode for it to charge. This plugs into the mains.

What's the 'sensible living space' comment all about? That did make me laugh.

I stand by my original comment, these are a must have. Unless you have OCD and can't have something on display that's not 'normally' in a living room. Perhaps you could buy one and hide it behind an ornament of an otter, in your oh so sensible living space ;-)

I too took a long time to justify paying a lot more for this charger compared to prices of third party chargers(which I normally buy), but glad I purchased this. Quality piece of kit, surprisingly really small and charges through the ports at the base off the controller which speeds up the charging time considerably.

Thanks OP!

Cost me £20.34, delivered after adding a second-hand NFS Shift for 87p to avoid P&P :D
