make a choice now :)

tbh,this is about the market price,not really a deal~

I paid £1500 for a 2000 900ssie in the summer. Very cheap to run. Great fun bikes. Not sure this is a great price as Ducatis like to be run. Might need new belts, tyres, battery, oil. Think the sport model had cheaper suspension and that nasty matt paint. Only half fairing too, single disc. A lot of cash for an 8 year old bike....not even in the fastest colour.

Hot price for a Ducati; however, fully faired is not £3999 but £4499 - you should revise your original post OP as this is misleading.

I used to love having a bike but prefer to watch it on tv now much safer with all the [email protected] car drivers about.
I do think everyone should have to take a bike test before learning to drive a car that way they might begin to understand what their mirrors are supposed to used for (not for putting lipstick on with)

Seems cheap, but 79bhp for a 900?? Seems very low to me, not a bike expert but that doesn't seem much power. Ok it will be fast (queue obv car comparisons) but not fast for a bike.
#24
It will top 140 and 0-60 in around 4 seconds

It just reads like an advert

If I was mad enough to get back into bikes, I'd go for the Alice.
#27
i'd say post is linked to the seller, poster states 2002 model, that information isn't on the web pages.

anyone fancy an 8 year old "new" bike and think ducati will actually honour that 2 year warranty now?
#28
you are very wrong. so i am linked to play too ? and pixmania and amazon.
I found the deal first on autotrader. Why the would you think that.

Very true - I know there are some idiot bike riders out there (mostly on scooters I find!) but as a car driver and a bike rider, I am amazed at the ignorance of UK car drivers and their attitude towards bikes and bikers. Its totally different on the continent, where they make way for bikers

When you get bored with the bike, you can trade it in. When you get bored of the wife, a solicitor gets rich(er).
Go for the bike :D

Was tempted to put a cautionary note about buying an 8 year old bike (bear in mind oils, lubricants and fluids will all have been likely sitting in the bike since leaving the factory 8 years ago). But if the 2 year warranty is genuine and a full warranty, im sure the dealer will replace all of the fluids and service the bike before collection.

Not a bad deal, if you compare it to say an SV650 (also a V-Twin with around 60HP) costing around £5k, then the Duke has more power and has better quality components. They're not great around town though

Do NOT go near a Busa if your very tall, I used one for a few days and got terrible lower back pain due to the riding position being way too low. Yes, they are fast but it's just not worth the pain.

The ride height of Kawasaki Ninja's suit taller people, might not be as fast but you won't look like some bent-over old fart when you arrive. :D

Even for a lowly 900S, £3999 is a really good price.
With Valentino going to Ducati iut makes it even more desirable to his fans.
For the money of course a Busa or Blackbird is so much quicker but it's a great deal for a new supersports bike. I have a busa and an old Yamaha 1000 EXUP and I am still tempted by the 900ss "Alice" model at £4999.

A guy in our office had one for a few years, and he's 6'8", and he loved it!
