Is anyone really duped by these stupid RRP's. Judging by the terrible spelling and grammar in their sales blurb I'd say it was written by a chinaman - who probably made the watch too.

Is it worth £78? I'm not sure about that either.

Black dial of carbon fiber: Why?!?!?

Whats wrong with chinese people, just because they might have trouble spelling english, why dont you try writting chinese, eh! your just racist and most of your stuff comes from china, TV's speakers, toasters, ect.. some of the best stuff comes from china, also these watches have great reviews, from what I seen, and this is were they are made:

All the Ducati watches are exclusively Swiss made and the entire performance time range uses sapphire glass and materials such as steel and titanium. Ducati has used the special design from the racing world of the Ducati Corse shield and the Desmodromic system

Swiss made - doesn't actually mean made in switzerland anymore - they can say that if they put the movement in the case in switzerland.

Who said there is anything wrong with the chinese? I said it looked as if it had been written by a chinaman, a poor show for an apparently prestigious watch aimed at English speaking folk who are going to spot glaring grammar and spelling mistakes.

Judging from your failure to grasp what I was saying and the fact your grammar is no better I take it English is not your first language either.

It's nothing to do with Chinese people....its on amazon, they list the item on the site. Maybe the staff should read the item description? Anyway, who cares? It's the RRP that's funny. Clearly somewhere between China and Amazon someone guessed the price ;)

Confucius he say, "Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance."

Sometimes it is prudent to consider your own words before you attack those of others. The word 'Chinaman' is a contentious and disagreeable word. Chinese people and/or those of Chinese/Oriental decent can and do find the word somewhat insulting. The word was used in years gone by but it is strongly discouraged in modern society. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinaman_%28term%29

agreed rrp is ridiculous however, this is the best price and I know a few bike fans who would be happy with this price. :D

I know exactly what I'm saying as I speak for myself and don't rely on google to find quotes which were most likely not said by the person who you think said it. Now that's ignorance for you. LOL.

And? Many Quartz movements are dramatically cheap when compared with the retail prices of watches. This particular movement is all Swiss, and appears in many decent watches. As I said, it's far from junk.

Although it can be an excellent tool, my knowledge of Confucius does not come from Google.

I do not doubt that you believe you 'know what you are saying as you speak for yourself'. Unfortunately, there is a difference between 'you' knowing what you're trying to articulate and what the rest of the world deciphers from your comments.

You seemed keen to highlight one part of my post and ignore the rest. My post was driven toward your use of the word 'Chinaman'. The word is contentious, as I have tried to show you (I provided a link for your information). Once again, just for you, Chinese people and/or people of Chinese/oriental decent find the word derogatory. Indeed, many Asian organisations discourage any use of the word. So in our modern society the word 'Chinaman' is deemed as unacceptable... sorry, it is deemed unacceptable in a 'rational thinking' modern society, perhaps you struggle to fit into that category?

You seem to have misinterpreted your own link there, using the word 'many' when you feel like it to try and make your opinion seem more acceptable. Well as long as it is to you them everyones happy, personally, I couldn't give a monkeys what you think nor your own personal slant on public opinion or 'rational thinking'. (whatever that may be in your personal crusade)

Tell you what, report my posts if you'd like to, I wont consider your behaviour unacceptable, I've got broad shoulders.

Wrong yet again.

Give me the quote number where, prior to you saying it's not junk at #17, I said anything remotely derogatory about the movement.

In fact, give me any quote which you thinks implies that I believe the movement used is junk.

Put a bit of thought into it this time before replying with the first thing that comes into your head.................

Your ignorance really is blinding! OK, one last time just for you...

Chinaman
(U.S. and English) Chinese person, used in old American west when discrimination against Chinese was common.[29] Possibly coined by early Chinese Americans from a translation of "Zhong Guo Ren" which is literally "China" and "Person." In contrast to "Frenchman" or "Irishman" which are generally considered neutral, non-insulting terms, "Chinaman" is considered offensive especially in the U.S. due to the virulent anti-Asian racism of the period in which the term came into popular usage (mid-1800s) and tends to generate objections in contemporary usage. Can be comparable to referring to a Black person as "a Negro", today.

LOL, that's a different link to the first one, the one who's quotes you doctored to further your lame efforts.

It's there to show you another source of information in relation to the use of the word.

the one who's quotes you doctored to further your lame efforts.
I didn't 'doctor' the quote. Indeed I supplied you with a link to verify the quote and unless I own the website in the link, I can't 'doctor' the link. As to my 'lame efforts', well they're certainly in vain when it comes to trying to show you why your use of the word 'chinaman' IS deemed by society as derogatory. Did you actually read ANYTHING in that last quote? Don't you feel any sense of right and wrong? The last line of the quote states: 'Can be comparable to referring to a Black person as "a Negro", today'. After reading that do you seriously believe that the term 'chinaman' is acceptable?

howardino
You actually think I care................. FPMSL.
Oh well done! How very adult! Yes I did naively think you 'might' care. I thought that perhaps it might be a word you'd picked up somewhere and unknowingly use it, not realising it's connotations. But considering your childish response to all of my efforts to try and show you why it is viewed as derogatory, it's obvious to me now that you're either lacking in a mental capacity or that you're a total ignoramus. Perhaps it's both but I sincerely hope you're just mentally lacking as that would at least go some way toward explaining your uncultured, uneducated, unenlightened, ill-informed, uncouth opinions of a whole section of the world's society.

You said in post #25, you were giving it one last go. You failed.

Why do your sorts feel the need to force your opinions on normal everyday folk like me.

You actually believe that I am at fault for being, what was the word you used.......'unenlightened'. Sorry, but I don't touch the medication you're on. (I'm right aren't I, you do need medication to get through the day ;) )

Keep trying, go dig up some other reference to the 1800's which will keep your own racist hunger fed. You get quite turned on by all this don't you...............

The datasheets say there are two versions of that movement - only one is swiss made.

the fact remains that it is a cheap movement and should be a cheap watch. £445 is just laughable and even £78 looks expensive to me.

And it is now £111 anyway.
