In the words of Slade, IT'S CHHRRRRIIIISSSTMASSSS!!

So that means that it is, once again, time to start buying presents for everyone. But what do you buy the most techhie and nerdy geek, the discerning teenager or simply your other half?? Mobile phones are always popular, and whether you know what you're after or need some advice, we're all here to help. We'll help you chose the right network, phone, company to buy from and which tariff to choose and, most importantly, help you to find a deal which won't break the bank.

If you're reading this in the forums, then get requesting. Otherwise, you'll need to click on "Go to deal" or "Comments" in order to get to the forum thread.

In order to make a post in the forums you'll need to register. This is quick and free.

Have a BRILLIANT Christmas everyone. Remember, the earlier you order your phone, the more likely it is that stock will be available!!

:)

Ok. Here's the score. Try to keep non-request posting in this forum to a minimum. I'll add to this post as I feel necessary, so keep an eye on it.

Before purchasing, take a look at the feedback threads here on HotUKDeals to get an idea of what the company is like. >>Click Here<< to find the HUKD "mobile phone retailer" and "network" feedback.

When requesting a deal:

1) Whether it's going to be Pay As You Go or Contract.
2) The Phone. It's best if you KNOW which phone you want. If you aren't sure what to go for, let us know about everything else, and give us an idea of what the phone will be used for, eg. taking photos/music, and who you are buying for.
3) The network. If you're after a particular network, then say so. It's easier if you leave us with some scope for choosing a network though, because with many offers the best deals on a handset are all on the same network!! This is possibly more important on a PAY-G handset.
4) The number of inclusive minutes/texts required if it's a contract.
5) Your price range. Remember though, I can't magically find a deal on a handset which is within your price range, but it may help me to find an alternative if you're struggling.
6) If there's any company you don't feel you wish to touch with a barge-pole with regards to cashback then let me know, and I'll avoid them when filling your request.

REMEMBER: For the best deal, accept that you may have to be a little bit elastic whith your choices.

Please only offer help or advice to people if you know exactly what you are doing. I'm here for advice, and Edi's another valuable member of the moderator team when it comes to mobile advice.

If you find a deal I've posted in this thread cheaper elsewhere then please send me a >>PRIVATE MESSAGE<< and I can ammend the details to match the new offer.

When I reply to your deal request, I'll quote your username. I'll also try to send out my findings as a Private Message to you as well as I did last year.

Hope this helps. LET'S DO CHRISTMAS... :santa:

Oh, and thanks go to Emma for her image editing skills. :-)

Remember, if you want her to edit your usual avatar into something festive like she has done with mine then just head across to the Misc forum, there's a thread in there.

I hope i got this right as i'm a new one here.I posted a thread in the request deals for SE P990.The cheapest one i could find was for £379.99. No contract.Doesnt matter on which network. Thanks!

duckmagicuk2
Yes, the cheapest PAY-G SE P990i is £379.99 at >>FonePlanet<<.

Hi, hope you can help.

K800i - PAYG/Sim Free. Needs to work on Vodafone. Wouldnt mind a contract, but really want to risk the cashback stuff. However - if the price of the phone even if cashbacks dont work is good - may as well risk it :) Dont mind quidco either - even though never used it! Dont mind refurbs etc either. And no real preference on colour.

Cheapest Ive seen is £189.99 is at the Link but its O2 and probably locked :-(

Any cheaper and id be v happy :-D

duckmagicuk2
Make sure you take a read through schizoboy's advice. You could try the o2 one at the Link and hope it's unlocked and send it back within 7 days if it isn't, but it would involve opening it and it also depends on how awkward The Link wish to be.

The K800i is available at the Vodafone online store for £225. This costs more, but you won't need to open it and fiddle about with it which isn't always best if it's a Christmas present.

Remember, by purchasing via QuidCo.com you'll make £5 cashback.

Is this (surely) not more for Deal Request land?
I can see this, quite rightly mind, getting filled with requests.

Hi,
Hope you can help me please. Quite simply a new phone for my hubby, the simpler the better (he is not technical at all!), maybe with bluetooth (so me n the kids can put him some good ringtones on).
PAYG
O2 network (small calling circle and most are on O2)
Cheapest available pls.
Thanks in advance :)

cheapest PAYG phone on O2 with bluetooth?

Brand new seems to be a Motorola L6 at phones4u for £55 after quidco
Bit of a rip off really.
>>Click Here<< to go to the offer at Phones4U!!

Compared to £30 refurb on tmobile and £10 to unlock it
Personally I'd wait for another price drop on the rock solid classic Nokia 6230i

O2 PAYG new is never as well subsidised as other networks so always a rip off IMHO.
The L6 refurb for £29.95 which was on here (use search) unlocked is the way I would go.

What would you buy duckmagic? If you've got a budget of £200 for a payg on o2 (or any other network - I can get it chipped) which must have Bluetooth, infra red, and a memory card and the phone must play mp3's. Nothing else matters.

duckmagicuk2
Personally, I'd go for the Sony Ericsson W810i. Has bluetooth, plays MP3s as it's a walkman phone, expandable memory by Memory Stick Duo Pro memory cards, like the ones you buy for the PSP. It's a great phone all round, the camera's much better than my digital camera too and takes amazingly clear pictures!!

It's available from Phones4U on o2 PAYG at £149.99. >>Click Here<< to go to the Phones4U offer!!

My son would love a new mobile for xmas, his dream phone would be a w810i, but likes the w700i (which i think will be more appropriate for my purse!)
I'd like to buy him a 12month contract so that his pocket money isnt always going on credit for a payg.
Hes more of a texter than a talker,
and it doesnt matter which network.
I dont mind a deal involving cashback, as long as it is with a reliable cashback paying retailer.

Hope you can help!

I'm looking for the best deal around on Orange so that I can qualify for free broadband. I don't really care what the phone is as long as it's the best deal (preferably with 100% reliable cashback and if poss a profit through quidco. If there is a choice of device, then great.

Results of my boredom on a sunday morning:

Katya SE P990 cheapest on contract right?

Seems you were right, £379.99 is the cheapest from OSPS on Orange Canary 30 add £36.50 quidco and possibility of free broadband if you can blag it off Orange then its not so bad.

Will be interesting to see if anyone else finds that cheaper as I imagine SE are gonna be using XMAS to get rid of their last big batch of these so better deals might come to make way for its successor next year.

Hi, what a great service you are offering, thank you.

My son has put a mobile phone at the top of his Christmas List and said that he will let Father Christmas decide which one he gets.

Unfortunately its poor old Dad that will be paying his bills!

I know he likes both the LG Chocolate and SE W810i so either of those would be fine, unless someone can advise that one is much better than the other.

I am looking for the best value package I can get on either PAYG or a contract of no more than £15 per month (this can include cashback IF from a reputable longtime established dealer).

The amount of minutes / texts isn't that important as he will be a very light user, perhaps a 20 - 30 texts per week and only 3 or 4 phone calls per week. He is only 10 and the phone is for pose value with his mates and to allow us to know exactly where he is at all times when out playing on his bike.

Thank you.

PS The network isn't that important, I am on vodaphone personally and my wife is on Orange, but as we are all light users and all our calls are likely to fall within the monthly X-network allowance I would consider any of the networks for this phone.

dudesweet: After a SE K800i cheapest PAYG or contract but must work on Voda?

Unfortunately Vodafone is probably the worst retailer for network commission for retailers in the market, meaning every other deal on this phone will be better on another network.

O2 phones are usually not locked, if you are willing to pay that £190 I'd get it and see online if not, send it straight back for a refund, time and effort wasted yes, but better than paying over the odds on Vodafones appauling comissioned deals.

The cheapest I can see Voda doing the K800i via a retailer is £419.00 term cost from mobileshop.com before £25 quidco, not good is it...

Going to vodafone direct gives you the SE K800i for £70 on £30/m contract of 200mins and 100sms with 2 extras meaning you can bolt on stop the clock and another 250sms or a mix of 1 of their 3G News services or free K800i on the £35/month contract 500mins and 100sms but 1 extra which can be 250sms extra or stop the clock, you can choose depending if you are a talker or texter and £40 quidco that makes the £35/month contract £380 term cost

Personally of you MUST go vodafone I'd get the O2 PAYG and pray its unlocked and get 1 of the rare 12month free rental vodafone deals which coolnewmobile and themobileoutlet both do them £30ish quidco from either = £160 total term cost taking into account PAYG price of phone

sgandtg: £200 on O2 or unlockable with bluetooth, IR and memory card, bt and memory isn't a problem, it's the IR which is being phased out on alot of phones bar some top end ones, expensive, my N80 does it, I'll leave that for someone else to find as spec wise that is a bit of a nightmare

jandcpoole: SE W810i on text heavy contract?
Virgin 30: 200mins/300sms £60 term cost with 10months free line rental cashback via £60 x5 cashbacks for £300 total, £30 after quidco:
http://www.themobileoutlet.co.uk/handset.asp?txtMode=3&txtNetwork=6&txtHandset=343&txtTariff=144&code=EROMS
If he needs more than 300sms say 500, cheapest I can find is £285 term cost before quidco on Virgin 40 250mins/500mins £195 cashback from OSPS here:
http://tinyurl.com/u5cnz

MickKnipfler 18month orange £30+ contract cheap as poss for free broadband?

I did this myself with buymobilephones.net with a Motorola L6 16months free line rental, £45 for the L6 on ebay and £20 quidco = £5 profit for 18monthsxCanary30 with 18months free broadbnad (capped but I break it without problems, they'll put on max for fiver a month if they think u are taking the urine)
www.buymobilephones.net have only JUST stopped that deal unfortunately best I could find is this L7 on 14months free £420 cashback, £120 term cost, £83.50 after quidco or £4.63/month average, the L7 would get at least £60 on ebay so £20 really IMHO:

Hi Ducky, want to get my dad a new handset. Hes on virgin and wants to stay with them. He is after a new PAYG handset, preferably flip front, so screen doesnt get damaged when in his pocket. He has a Samsung D600 at the moment. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

Thanks Schitso. I'll have a look at that deal. Can I assume their cashback is straight?

Flip phones on Virgin @ 1st glance, some with credit:
Lobster 575: £80
Motorola V3i: £110
Benq-Siements EF61: £110
Motorola V3iM £210
Motorola KRZR K1 £260

What I recommend, Motorola V3i:
http://www.dialaphonepp.co.uk/TD3/offer/ppvi06104b/

Now that I think about it the V3i is near on spec matching the D600, just a larger screen, and nicer aesthetically.

KRZR for £260 with £50 credit:

Schiz: On Orange theL6 is available here. I wonder is it's worth taking the Racoon £35 cos you get free landline calls plus calls to your "majic number" (whatever that is). That's 15 months free rental. Or I could have the L7 with one month's less free line rental
#24
Thanks so much Schizoboy. Rep added!

MickKnipfler if your're a heavy user, then yes

Orange Racoon £30 (18mths)16 Months FREE Line Rental £30.00 £ FREE

I didn't even notice that for some reason.

I think BMP moved it from Canary 30 to Racoon 30.

Either way that is the best deal on a 18month £30+ contract there is.

This is great !

Im after a Samsung D900 on (offline if possible but happy to go on line rental if the final price means the phone is cheap-tastic! ). Has to be a brand new phone not refurbished/without a box etc.

Thanks guys !!

p_khawnekar I was about to say, the K800i is unlockable and that would be locked to Vodafone, I am wrong it seems, bearing in mind not many can unlock it yet, its not widespread, www.gsm-support.co.uk and ebayers claiming to be able to unlock it if so, I'll be very interested myself once the price falls a bit more :)

I just bought a Sony Ericsson K610i on orange PAYG from LXDirect for £103.60 inc p&p.

Using a £25 off first order & then a 20% discount code (all of which are found in the vouchers section of this web site)

Cheapest i could find anywhere else was £150.00

So a nice saving of £46.50 thanks to HUKD

Once i'd paid for it,, there was another code for me to get 10% off my next order as well. But i forgot to write the code down. Durrrr...

Hi, excellent thread!

I'm looking for a PAYG Motorolla V3 for my dad, preferally black or silver (Definiately not pink!)

Would like it to either be with Orange or O2, but if its a big discount going with someone else then I'm not too bothered.

Refurbished or new, doesnt really matter as long as its in good condition.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

can you help, I'm looking more for a cheap tariff (sub £20) that anything else. 100mins\50sms is more than enough for me, the main thing is that the tariff has to include 0800\0870\0845 numbers as that's what I use the most.

Can you help?
