This is a brilliant deall. I bought the R2 dvds @ around £15 for each season from tesco direct about six months back, but this is like a third of that price!!!

I hope they will release season 4 which was about 12 episodes on dvd, then the collection would be complete.

Looking at the reviews this collecton has those episodes... could be wrong though...

Sorry to say but from reviews I read online, this is the one of the rare instances where the R2 DVD release of a US/Canadian TV show is actually better than the R1 release. R1 US has less extras features, but most significant of all worse picture quality, several reviews on Amazon says this, R1 US has 11 discs for all 3 series, whereas UK R2 has 6+5+7=18 discs for all 3 series, so R1 US seems to have sacrificied PQ to save discs. Comparison also on http://www.dvdcompare.net

The R2 UK is pretty much identical to R1 Canadian Alliance Atlantis release in terms of PQ i.e. considerably better than R1 US. A true fan of the show should try to track down the R2 UK release, got the R2 UK Series 1 & 2 from Tescos when it was on sale for around £13 each I think (they were the big box with regular amaray cases version) but took me a while to track down the Series 3, which seems much rarer than Series 1&2, ordered from ASDA online in July but waited & watied & no stock, finally got it on eBay, to complete my collection, if you line the 3 boxsets beside eachother the spine of the boxes makes up a sort of transparent compass as seen in the opening of the show, which is cool.

a bit more info from Wiki:

Note that the UK release entitled Due South: The Complete Third Series does in fact contain all 26 episodes from the third and fourth seasons. Note that the US DVDs are allegedly of poorer quality than the Canadian releases; the pilot episode is included on the first season Australian, UK and US release but on the third season Canadian release.

The UK publisher Network seems to have re-released a "Repackaged" version for all 3 series, discs should be the same, don't know what's different about the packaging, & is online for around £17 each, I think the price may go down a bit durng sales.

sorry for the long winded post, the DVD collector in me has got better of me again, always trying to get the best version/edition available for collection

Im a collector too - and whilst I am a little worried about the pic quality I cant afford/justify even 3 times as much for this. This is a good price if you want to watch it again and then sell.

IF the uk versions ever come down in price again I may consider an upgrade IF I can affode it :)

Thanks for the info though.
