Nice one matey-thanks! Anyone know if they'd be a good choice for an external dslr flash pls??
#2
Yes they are, as these are very high drain devices. But only if you use them within a week of charging. For most other things though, I'd recommend buying the low self discharge/hybdrid types which have a slightly lower headline capacity (which should be taken with a pinch of salt anyway) but happily retain their charge for months.

I need some rechargeables that will hold their charge for awhile! Any links of anything suitable?
#5
Personally I now only buy low self discharge rechargeables from Sanyo, Uniross or Panasonic.
#6
Do you need a Durecell charger for these, or would it work on other brand chargers?
#7
All chargers work with all batteries, if they physically fit of course.

Ones that charge in less than an hour are not recommended as they are likely to shorten battery life too much.

7dayshop Good To Go is another low self discharge battery which probably works just as well as all the rest.

I've been using Sanyo for a while and really like them. Is Panasonic as good?
#9
I think the question is answered above.

i noticed today in Morrisons that they have the durecell batteries with the sqeeze strip so you can tell how much charge left in at half price so 2.24 for aa and aaa

Used this with my 580ex flashgun and it works great hold the charge very long. The cycle power is better than any other rechargeable batt. I have 16 piece of this batt. Bought it few months back at amazon 8pack for £8. Superb batt..

Get the low self discharge ones if you have any sense. Would you rather have a battery which saves you a few pence or one that works when you need it?
#14
This is actually a very nice price. Good find op!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/UNIROSS-8-Pack-Multi-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B001OBOGLI/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1298058829&sr=1-8

This looks like a good price too: 8x Uniross batteries for £7.50 delivered, and they seem to be the low self discharge type
