it's about time duracell got with the program and made these, LSD batteries for me killed buying alkalines, after all these cost about 2x alkalines, but of course make it back in 1 recharge

I wonder what this will do long term to duracells inflated alky prices?

AAA also at tesco's too

i would never buy these. i bought one pack of this active series and another one of duracell supreme series an year ago. Duracell supreme is much better thn this.

Are duracell supreme a fiver though?

the duracell supreme are high capacity 2650mah but they are not low self discharge

I agree about Supremes. Bought 16 out of Currys in recent clearance at £2.97 a pack of 4. Remember NiMHD lose 5-10% of charge day one circa 0.5- 1% a day thereafter. So even if left in a drawer, over a month later they would still have more charge than the ever ready style.

If these are made in Japan and have a white top below the + terminal, then they are almost certainly rebadged Sanyo Eneloops.

Fantastic price for Dura-loops as CPF have named them.

Only downside is they'd be useless in my household as they look too similar in appearance to normal duracells to be saved from the recycling box when they ran out!

Yes and No. Depends on the application.

IMHO they are both excellent batteries. The Supreme are brilliant for demanding applications where you are going to be using them fresh from the charger. They are less good for slow drain applications i.e. alarm clocks, remote controls etc.

One thing to be aware of is the Supreme's are chunky batteries, they are on the maximum limit of allowable diameters for AA so have a habit of getting stuck in anything with a tight fitting tube (i.e. aluminium torches, bike lights, cameras etc.)

YMMV - Rufus.

Yeah, sure. :whistling:
Plenty of rumour, but I have yet to see anything that offers the remotest evidence - like technical testing figures that match closely for example.

A London bus is red and has a hole in it, but just try posting letters in it!

Still, it's all advertising crap. Duracell Eneloop, whatever? Means nothing special to me, but if they work, then use them if the price is right.

Still can't beat the value of the Good to Go ones at 7dayshop.com - £3.99/3.69 for 4 AA or AAA, depending on how many you buy. I can't tell any difference with the Eneloops I already had, in practical use.

Was hot for me until I noticed the £5 delivery charge  Unfortunately my local store doesn't have a "click and collect" dept.

Oh well... Not in any rush. Might get some 7dayshop "Good to go" instead ... Hmm
