No idea where the description comes from, but these are NOT the ready charged type.... (They would be the Duracell Staycharged") and therefore NOT 1700mah, but 2000mah! The 1700's are the lower power standard rechargeables from Duracell:
http://www1.duracell.com/uk/products-detail-standard.aspx

the Argos item isn't the same thing, it appears to be the Staycharged batteries

Lots of places (eg. Tesco Direct) or http://www.looking4online.co.uk/battery-chargers-combos/duracell-mini-charger-2-nimh-1700-mah-batteries-p-338.html or http://www.robertdyas.co.uk/P~145569~Duracell%20Mini%20Charger%20with%202%20Rechargeable?source=aw sell the original pack with charger, for a low price, with standard batteries it seems it takes 6 to 8 hours to charge.
Might do as a standby, but not very convenient, with only 2 at a time.

Cheap, but batteries are low power, nothing special, charger is similarly ordinary.

I no longer buy standard rechargeables (and these are not even up to par with many available out there at 2500mah or more), in favour of the much more convenient Low self Discharge type (currently at 4 for £3.99 on 7dayshop.com)

Excellent offer. Heat added! The only difference between these and the ones on Argos is the colour (argos ones come in different colours). Just brought 2 from my nearest Morrison's.

Thanks

Where did you 'bring' them? Didn't you buy them first?

So the description is wrong, and they are the new ones with the 2000mah Duracell Staycharged batteries?
I would be very surprised, why not post a picture of them?

#18
Went to my local - none in (boo) but Lincoln has loads :D (so managed to get myself one - thanks OP!)

They must be clearing them out now, I will have to check if my local still has some.

They came in last year as a £9.99 special, my local never seemed able to shift them at the old price, they were always in stock, plenty of them, then one day the whole display was gone.

Just a heads up. I bought one of these today from my local store, so price is still £3.
