Great price but I'd suggest you take cover in readiness for the imminent arrival of the Rechargeable Brigade.
#3
Great deal!
#4
can see this getting very hot!
#5
So cheap? Has the EC come to its senses and decided to ban them at last?
#6
Not doubting you got it but previous deals for Duracells at Curry's have been VERY store specific! Well done on your purchase anyway.
#7
in b4 rechargeable faggots
#8
Why did you not just get rechargeables?? Only joking, thats a great price for that many duracell batteries. Anyone tried Bullring Birmingham store? Will try and check it over next few days!
#9

No.

This is a £x.97 item.

As daft as buying disposables is, no-one is going to be wasting much money on this, other than on wasting petrol traipsing round looking for them!
#16
im going to check my store tomorrow to see if they are this price good price
#17
been this price for months, got some myself an m3 ultras at 2.47 or something
#18
Cold from me, purely because rechargeable batteries save so much more money in the long run.

My mate spent £150 a year on duracells for his xbox pad before eventually buying a play & charge kit.

I have used rechargeables for years and have concluded they don't live up to their promises.
Recharge up to 1000 times? Less than 20 is my experience.

Some seem to discharge on their own, so that torch you use rarely will be flat just when you need it.

For anything where you have low power consumption and need reliable power for 2~3 years (e.g. central heating timer), forget about rechargeables.

You will be glad to hear that your experience is unique. I can only think that you have a very broken charger.
Some seem to discharge on their own, so that torch you use rarely will be flat just when you need it.
You will also be glad to hear that that is no longer a problem, with the "hybrid" types which take more than a year to self-discharge. "Hybrio", "Eneloop" or 7dayshop's "Good to Go".
For anything where you have low power consumption and need reliable power for 2~3 years (e.g. central heating timer), forget about rechargeables.
Of course - but then you wouldn't be wanting to buy bulk packs like this because you'd use them so slowly that the shelf life would expire before you'd finished them!

Don't know when it was you last tried rechargeable batteries, but you don't have to top them up with distilled water now, nor add acid! :whistling:

Nothing like the real life experience now with Low Self Discharge rechargeables!

This item gets hotter despite there being a handfull of packs in the whole country? :?

EDIT: So few in fact the website no longer lists the item

I have found these 80 miles away in Leeds for £2.47. Well worth the trip :-D

I rang Currys and was told they do not have them nationwide. They had them for 2.47.
Popped into my local in Ilford and they had none in stock too. :(
I always miss the deals.

I don't understand...... so £1.97 is a stunning deal, yet £2.47 is terrible? :?

All the "£x.97" DSG company offers are waste of eyesight... don't be disappointed, just ignore them as they rarely exist in more than ones or twos!

Of course that doesn't stop people blindly voting them red hot, even though from posts in this thread only one lot has ever been bought at that price from what I can see!

Lucky escape - just buy yourself a set of rechargeables and you'll be quids in in the long run.

That's because this deal ran about 2 months ago when there were quite a large amount of £1.97 battery packs both in AA and AAA plus many £2.47 AA packs. Heat on those deals reaced over 1000.

The pack found by the OP probably fell through the cracks
