Good price for a surge protected tower. I've got one of these in both colours and they've been exactly as expected.

For those that don't care about the surge protection CPC have something similar things for less
10 way £5.45 (No surge protection)
8 way £7.50 Surge protected and individually switchd

Good but can't hep worrying about the wobble factor given the weight of some plugs these days.

Not an electrician, but they effectively work like an RCD breaker - hence if there is a surge of power or anything that would traditionally blow fuses or start smoking, with this it simply switches off the current within 30-50 milliseconds keeping you, all of your equipment and your house perfectly safe.

It's often used to plug in your TV system, computer system or anything else that is either valuable or uses high amounts of electricity.

Guys, while I've got your mind on it in this thread, I bought a 10 gang one a while ago and was always really worried about its quality... Then one night it started sparking, so it got binned, as did my pants.

Can anyone recommend some really properly good quality 6, 8 or 10 way extensions? I'd be happy to pay more than a tenner, but I want to know I'm getting something decent and safe, don't care about paying for a brand name, just want high quality not a nasty import...

any thoughts or experience y'all could share?

I posted a similar deal for the 12 socket version over 8 months ago (currently £11.99). Was a good deal then and still is, been worth it as its had constant use and has never faulted as of yet.
Also for anyone with concerns of wobbling, its fine, especially if heavy plugs are placed at the bottom.

I meant is it safe drawing power from up to 10 devices at one. Hence why I was wondering if an electrician could answer.

Fair enough. However as it is an RCD breaker, if there WERE too many appliances plugged in it would simply cut off, hence it's perfectly safe. It's what it's designed for ;) This has a maximum of 3000w, hence as long as you haven't plugged in your entire kitchen it'll be fine :)
