seems a good price, only issue ive had personally with non-powered switches is that it required 2 devices to be on to power it, so I had to replace it with one that was powered. I guess it all depends on what device(s) are powering the unit.

I really wish there was a device like this to separate the digital audio. Because my TV doesn't have a headphones/line out port, my only choice is to buy an AV amplifier :(

Good gadget for the price, heat!

Got one at similar (lower than normal) price last Xmas. Working just fine & automatically to expand the HDMI ports on my folks 4yr old TV - and has a manual button in case of any "auto" issues.

had one, replaced it. auto is rubbish and the cables end up in random places making it hard to put the unit in a place to auto switch

Great price.
Looks almost the same as this one, Keene Electronics which I have.
Works perfectly for me.
Heat added.

There is! :) Joytech/Madcatz make something called the "AV Control Center" which is designed for video game consoles to switch inputs, but I bought one and simply use it as a Digital SPDIF Toslink switch, and an ethernet switch, as it only does component video.

You might struggle to find one i think now. I don't think many people sell them these days, or if they even make them.

Have a similar item as this and it works really well for my xbox but for some reason doesn't work with my Dell XPS 17 laptop. The laptop HDMI out works fine when connected to the HDTV directly though. So bear in my mind that it may not work with everything.

@gherkingHUD a lot more expensive but cheaper than a new av amp is one of the matrix splitters that have four inputs and two HDMI outputs and also have an optical digital out and stereo out. It means you can use with headphones or connect to an older amp with no hdmi input eg Neet® HDMI TRUE MATRIX- 4 Input 2 Output (4x2) Switch / Splitter - 1080p Full HD - Distribution Amplifier with Audio Out at £89.95 on Amazon. This allows you to have up to four sources and redirect any of them to two different displays and also split the audio off. There may be cheaper ones about. amazon link

These splitters all provide a way of sending more than one hdmi input to a single hdmi port i.e. if your tv is limited on hdmi ports.

Is there a cheapish device similar to this that would let me share, say my Sky HD box, between 3 tvs with auto switching depending which tv was on?

But splitters are a lot more £25+

this works well with ps3 and sky. Automatically switches between them.

Will 3d signals pass through okay? I cant afford a new 3d capable receiver at the mo, I was thinking about one of these to tide me over

Had no joy with an auto switch (not this model) with Sky Hd and two Pcs into a Pioneer Plasma. A 4 port manual switch worked ok, and a powered switch with remote also works fine (aten vs481a)

I think this is the same model I brought off Amazon just before Xmas, at a higher price. Howevr I could not get it to work with a panny plasma tv, sony Blue-ray, xbox 360, and speare hdmi for my laptop - none would show a picture at all (just blank screen). Duronics happily swapped it over for a new model when I finally got round to complain several months later, but the new device has the same problem. Have a cheapy 2 port device whcih works great from the same panasonic plasma tv, sony blue ray and xbox!
Someone mentioned an issue with unpowered devices - I assume the tv being on does not count as one of the devices?
Still, will give it some heat, as cheaper than what i paid for it, and it must work for someone out there... :)
