My first deal posted so be gentle !
Its also in the Daily Express today and available online, by phone or using the link provided.
Its aleged to play most media files including DVDs, MP3, MP4 & JPG Discs and has a USB Port on the front so you can also plug-in your USB Data Stick or (I am guessing here) play content from any other USB device.
For a shade under £15 delivered - I'd say its a bargain.
Cheers :)

looks a bit suspect to me??
#2
excellent deal just ordered one A+
#3
Does any KNOW that it plays DiVX?
#4
Is it even A Sony player:?
#5
I don't know what to make of this.

Can't find it on the daily express website, and the address seems a different company.

heat and rep added

From the terms & conditions
"4 All products featured on this site are "free" meaning that no charge is made for the item itself."

But the DVD player is £9.99 + p&p?

The Express did a DVD player deal a few years back and it was an Alba one from memory.
#8
"(I am guessing here) play content from any other USB device."

You sure are... there is NO guarantee of that, I myself have one that will NOT see anything other than USB flash sticks, and it even knows if you try and connect it through a USB hub!
#9
The dvd player won't be a Sony, this is just a cheap play all dvd player as you find online or in aldi / lidl.
#10
Looks like the terms are taken from one of their web sites (Useful if you've missed any newspaper/magazine freebies)

Its genuine enough.
I bought the Daily Express (well the Mother-in-Law did !) and found the web site directly from the information provided.
The fact it states it plays MP4 means it 'SHOULD' play DIVX and XVID files too.

Well it's cheap-ish, Aldi were selling some for I think £17.99 a couple of weeks ago, with a 3 year warranty too if I remember right, so hardly the big bargain of a lifetime as they are so cheap anyway - there was a thread on here. Similarly a few months ago, Tesco had them even CHEAPER (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/436025/tesco-value-dvd-player-reduced-agai) which put them under a tenner - they come along all the time, and some have been well specified and well reviewed!

So, if they don't support USB Hard disks, I wouldn't bother buying one at all, and wait until the next one comes along -I have one with HDMI, that doesn't work with Hard disks and it is a waste of time as it is a matter of remembering to transfer the specific file you want to watch every time :-(

a "home media" player :?

isnt this just simply a "dvd" player :w00t:

No problem - I just thought I'd try to help those out who wanted such a gadget.

Its cheaper than those I've seen posted lately, and you are just speculating (the same as me !) as to whether it will host other USB devices or not.

Not that I've got the cash, but the RBS worldpay opens in a frame, and if you open that frame in a new page/tab it IS an https...

Lifes to short for all the doubters...take a risk now and then!
thanks to original poster.

Check the small print - Expansive media are the guys selling the stuff, and they get mentioned on Martin Lewis's site (google him!) as being rip off merchants - here is one thread : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1491663

Hi.
As the OP and someone who isn't buying one I have no really strong feelings either way...

However !

If I wasn't 99.9% certain this was legit, I would not have posted it.
The offer was definetly in the Daily Express yesterday (on the front cover) and there is no way that an organisation like them are going to promote a product with a company who will rip you off.

Odd, because when I open the secure payment page and click on which payment card it is not opening with https!

sweet just ordered. Page is deffo secured so seems genuine
#30
Am I right in thinking that if this item is free and it turns out to be a pile of junk when it arrives then you wouldn't be able to claim your £15 back because that was just a fee rather than a payment?

"...we will endevour to fulfill all remaining redemptions..."

hmmm, good point, they make a point of not committing themselves.

You're looking at the new year, if at all, in my opinion.
