Yeah i'd like to know this, i have a set of samsung ht-z310 speakers dunno if they'll work with this :s
#14
gone for one anyway... along with a few other bits and pieces (that I didn't realise I *needed* until I saw them!) to make up the free delivery amount.

It might just keep the keep the kids away from the front room 360 if they can play their dvd's etc on this.

Matches the Curtis DVD 1071 (link above) specs to the letter - this one maybe?
#16
Anyone know if this will play DivX HD files, DivX 7 or MKV (longshot I know).

I have Boffer and Bigpockets address, and telephone number. It's really not that hard to obtain.

I buy from these guys all the time. I can vouch for them, infact I will email their marketing girl to post on her if you like. Her name is Lauren, her twitter is boffer.co.uk or any of the below

I have usually a delivery a week from them, and have found them nothing but helpful.

Its not an amplifier - you can't connect speakers directly to the DVD player.

It simply had an inbuilt dolby digital decoder - so can output 6 separate sound channels to connect to an amplifier that has six phono inputs ( left / right / center / rear left / rear right / subwoofer).
Its handy for older amplifiers that don't have a digital input ( optical or coaxial) , or you could connect to PC speakers ( i.e ones with their own amplifier), but you may need phono to 3.5mm jack plug cables.

P.S It an AC3 decoder so it won't decode DTS discs ( but these DVDs usually have a dolby digital soundtrack as well). They don't decode external sources either ( so you can't attach to the optical and get decoded sound through the 6 phono sockets)

I know, I used to collect from Bigpockets when they were based in the West Midlands, my comment was more to the fact that person was complaining about lack of trust of any site that doesnt list an address or phone number for contact, there are many sites like that that have deals posted on here! Effectively halving the number of deals that particular person would go for.

Exactly the same. Might get it anyway at this price.

Obviously wont be able to use my speakers to their full potential as I managed to get really good speakers (for free) and this is only a cheap thing but for £10 do I really care..?

Click on this link to see an enlarged version of the player, looking closely there is no Divx logo so I'm guessing there sight is wrong, it doesn't even say divx under the playable formats on the site so i wonder were they are getting there info?
#35
GREAT!!! Looks like i just wasted £10 quid of my money, Most prob cost me £5 to send the thing back to em to get it a refund :\
#36
:oops:GREAT! £15 wasted on a rubbish DVD player. Doesn't play DIVX, gutted, thought I had a bargain?!?!
#37
I take it back. Its playing Divx straight out of the box :) It shows up as MP4 on the very limited display. But yes, DIVX works :)

Very happy right here, the best thing is it is whisper quiet too. A bonus.
#38
Yep, Recieved mine this morning, And its very cheap looking and i cant say much for the remote however it plays DIVX and ive been looking for a cheap one to give to my sister as shes allways borrowing mine to watch some download movies, So does the jop ;) Very happy worth £10.99 Though if anyone sees any nice other cheap ones with a usb slot...etc please post as im still looking for a good one to replace the one i brought over 3yrs ago!

Got my DVD player yestreday, user interface pretty basic but it works great for DVD +/R and RW, and machine looks nice! Mine came in black and grey, not silver and black as shown on manufacturers PDF at http://curtisint.com/web/..%5Cproducts%5CImages%5CSpecSheets%5CDVD1071UK.pdf

Made cost up for free delivery with AA alkaline batteries and £2 speakers - problem with them, but website gave me instant refund and didn't even want speakers sent back! excellent C/S.
